A heartfelt reflection on life’s journey, woven with memories of youth, love, separation, forgotten dreams, and unspoken emotions. It is about looking back without regret, embracing every scar and smile, and discovering that age may turn the pages of life, but the heart always has more stories to tell.
The Stories Still Within Me
I want to write what time cannot erase,
The lines on my face, the stories they trace.
The dreams I cherished, the tears I concealed,
The wounds of the heart that never quite healed.
I want to revisit the days gone by,
The first tender glance, the unspoken sigh.
The warmth of your touch, the pain of goodbye,
And all those moments that still make me cry.
I want to meet the young soul I once knew,
Walk those old roads and dream anew.
Gather the fragments of a life well spent,
And find the meaning in every moment.
O God, give my words the courage to flow,
Let my heart reveal what my eyes never show.
For I am not done with life’s beautiful art,
There are countless untold stories in my heart.
I have lived, I have loved, I have lost along the way,
Yet I have so much more to write and say.

Looking back is a good way to see the path we have followed. Sometimes we do not know why things happene the way they do until we see a decision we made or a direction we took many years ago. Everybody has a story/stories to tell. We only need listen. Happy Friday. Allan

So beautifully expressed, Allan! Looking back often helps us connect the dots and understand how even the smallest decisions shaped the journey of our lives. Every person carries a unique story, filled with lessons, memories, and experiences. Sometimes, all we need to do is pause, listen, and appreciate those stories. Wishing you a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend! 😊

A deeply moving reflection on life, memory and the resilience of the human spirit. Age may turn the pages, but the heart never runs out of stories. Truly beautiful.

Thank you so much for your beautiful words! Indeed, age may turn the pages of our lives, but every page leaves behind memories, emotions, and stories worth sharing. The heart keeps collecting experiences, and the beauty of life lies in continuing to learn, feel, and grow. After all, we grow older in years, but our stories keep us forever young. 🌹

Lately over I’ve had a little burst of inspiration and I look back where all the stories come from and they’re rooted in our youth.
It’s an easy connection, but ia useful connection.
And it doesn’t have to be the exact same truth it could be how we wanted to be it could be exactly how it was or some variation on a theme.
We were born with active imaginations

Beautifully expressed! Our youth is indeed a treasure chest of memories, dreams and experiences. Many of our stories may be inspired by what actually happened, while others are coloured by imagination, emotions and the passage of time. Perhaps that is the magic of writing: we don’t always have to recreate the past; we can reinterpret it. Our imagination gives old memories new wings, and our inner child keeps the storyteller alive. Keep writing and let those stories flow! 😊This might also interest you.

Thank you so much! ❤️ Those lines reflect my belief that life is an unfinished poem, and every new day gives us another opportunity to add a beautiful verse.
There is still so much to live, love, create and share! 😊
