A quiet reflection on finding peace beside the sea, where the waves wash away worries, the evening calms the heart, and silence gently brings us back to ourselves.
The Waves Find Me
At the edge of evening,
I sit beside the sea,
watching the waves
come and go.
They know my silence,
they know my pain,
yet never ask me
to explain.
The wind touches my face,
the sunset touches my soul,
and slowly,
the noise within me fades.
I leave my worries
on the shore tonight—
and walk away
with nothing but peace.
Somewhere between
the waves and the sky,
I found myself again.

I love your poem. It reminds me of the days I walked or jogged on the beach; my favourite time was early morning, and the best part was watching the sun come over the horizon. Magnificient! 🕊

The sea teaches a profound truth: waves rise and fall, yet the depth remains undisturbed. So it is with life thoughts and troubles may come and go, but the witnessing Self remains silent and whole.
Peace is not found when the world becomes quiet; it is found when the noise within loses its hold. 🙏

Beautifully expressed. 🙏 The ocean is indeed a wonderful metaphor for life—waves may rise, storms may come, and everything on the surface may change, yet the depth remains calm and undisturbed.
Perhaps inner peace is not about silencing the world, but about learning not to be carried away by every wave within us. When we become

Verma ji, this is truly beautiful. Your poem feels like a quiet evening by the sea—each line arrives softly, like a wave washing over the heart. I love how silence is not emptiness here, but a gentle companion that understands without asking. The closing lines, “Somewhere between the waves and the sky, I found myself again,” are simply perfect; they linger like the last light of sunset. Thank you for sharing something so peaceful and healing. It reminds us that sometimes we don’t need answers—we just need the sea, the sky, and a little silence.
