This is a quiet reflection on old wounds, painful memories, and the loneliness that sometimes follows us through life. The poem reminds us that healing does not always mean forgetting the past.
Sometimes, we simply need to create a little joy, allow hope to return, and give our hearts another reason to smile.
Me and My Wound
Today, my pen is moving,
but my heart is bleeding again.
I have no great complaint with life—
yet sometimes,
loneliness finds me
and takes me back
to yesterday.
Some memories
do not fade with time.
They quietly grow with us,
living inside old wounds
that refuse to disappear.
I told my life,
“Peace is enough.
Why search for anything more?”
Life smiled and whispered,
**“No…
when joy was with you,
peace was there too.
Create joy again.
Let your heart laugh,
let your dreams breathe,
and peace will return.”**
I paused.
Perhaps life was right.
Some wounds
do not need forgetting—
they need a little happiness
to heal.
So I will not run
from my past anymore.
I will create joy again…
And perhaps,
when joy returns,
peace will quietly
walk back into my life.

Verma ji, this is beautiful. 🙏
Your words carry the quiet weight of someone who has truly lived and truly felt. “Some memories do not fade with time. They quietly grow with us” — that line hit deep. It’s rare to find a poem that speaks about pain without bitterness, and about healing without pretending the wounds were never there.
What I love most is that you didn’t end with forgetting — you ended with creating joy. That’s such a gentle, powerful truth. Peace doesn’t come from erasing the past; it comes from giving the heart something new to smile about.
“Some wounds do not need forgetting—they need a little happiness to heal.” I think I’ll carry that line with me for a long time.
Thank you for sharing something so honest and so full of hope. Please keep writing, Verma ji — your words are a comfort to anyone who has ever sat quietly with their own old wounds. 🌸

Thank you so much for such a deeply touching response. 🙏❤️ Your words have reached a place in my heart that is difficult to express.
I am especially moved that you noticed the difference between forgetting the past and healing from it.
Some memories become part of who we are, and perhaps healing is not about erasing them, but about learning to live with them while creating new reasons to smile.

I told my lie
This is my mistake

Beautifully expressed. Some walls are built quietly—with mistakes, hurt, and silence—but the most courageous thing is to recognize them and find the strength to knock them down.
Your words remind me that healing is not about forgetting the past; it is about accepting it, learning from it, and having the courage to make things right. Thank you for sharing this profound thought. ❤️

Thank you so much for your beautiful and thoughtful words. ❤️
I truly believe healing doesn’t mean erasing our wounds; it means learning to live with them while making room for hope, joy, and new beginnings. Sometimes the scars remain, but they no longer define us. 🌷
