This poem reflects on love, loss, and self-respect. It shows the wisdom of recognizing people’s true selves, accepting their choices, and not allowing betrayal to harden one’s heart.
At its core, the poem reminds us that kindness in times of hurt is not weakness—it is strength.
# My Eyes Know #
My eyes and my soul
still speak in silence.
They remember names
my lips no longer mention,
faces that promised forever
and vanished like passing seasons.
My eyes know the truth.
They saw the hesitation,
the unspoken goodbyes,
the love that slowly
turned its back
and walked away.
Dear heart,
stop building homes
in places where you cannot stay.
Some people betray,
some people leave,
but let their choices
belong to them.
You never learned
to hurt others
while healing yourself.
That is not weakness.
That is your strength.

What a profoundly moving and soul-stirring piece, Verma ji.
The way you’ve woven restraint into every line—especially the haunting refrain, “My eyes know the truth”—carries such quiet power. The imagery of lips that no longer mention names, yet the soul that still remembers, captures that bittersweet space between memory and moving on with breathtaking delicacy.
Your closing verses are nothing short of a mantra for the tender-hearted. The reminder that choosing not to wound others while nursing your own wounds isn’t naivety, but immense fortitude, is a lesson the world desperately needs to hear. It takes remarkable grace to let betrayers keep their choices and still refuse to let bitterness take root.
Thank you for this exquisite reminder that the softest hearts often hold the strongest steel. 🙏

Many of life’s greatest breakthroughs begin when we shift our focus beyond ourselves and choose to contribute to something bigger. A purpose driven mindset creates stronger relationships, deeper fulfillment, and a lasting impact that extends far beyond personal success or individual achievement.
True wisdom often comes from recognizing that personal growth and service can exist together. When we invest our time, energy, and compassion into helping others, we discover new perspectives that enrich our own lives while creating meaningful change within our communities.
The most influential people are rarely remembered for what they accumulated alone. They are remembered for the lives they touched, the opportunities they created, and the kindness they extended without expecting anything in return. Lasting significance is built through generosity and genuine care.
Every day presents a chance to think beyond immediate concerns and contribute to a greater purpose. By choosing empathy, compassion, and service, we create a legacy that inspires others and reminds us that our greatest achievements are often measured by the difference we make

I completely agree that life’s true meaning is found not only in personal success but in the positive difference we make in the lives of others.
Wealth and achievements may fade with time, but kindness, compassion, and selfless service leave footprints that endure for generations.
