# Oh, My Memories!

Memories have a magical way of bringing yesterday into today. They make us smile, sometimes bring tears, and reconnect us with people, places, and moments that shaped our lives.

Through a personal reflection on my banking days, this poem celebrates the beautiful truth that while time moves on, the heart never truly forgets. Some chapters may close, but their memories remain forever.

# Oh, My Memories!

Memories knock when no one calls,
Whispering softly through silent walls.
They bring a smile, they bring a tear,
Making distant moments feel so near.

Some shine like sunshine, warm and bright,
Some haunt our dreams in the dead of night.
Some give us strength to carry on,
Some make us miss the days long gone.

I left the bank, yet memories stay,
Taking me back to another day.
Colleagues laughing, sharing tea,
A world that once belonged to me.

The familiar desk, the files in a row,
The faces I met, the friendships that grew.
The customers’ voices, the daily routine,
countless moments tucked in between.

Those ordinary days now seem so rare,
I wish, just once, I could return there.
Though years passed. Life moved on,
A piece of my heart still lingers on.

We tuck our memories away to sleep,
But some run too deep for time to keep.
They rise unbidden, soft and slow,
Bringing back joys we used to know.

And what would life without them be?
Like an empty shore, a restless sea.
No cherished laughter, no tears to shed,
No treasured moments living in our head.

Memories are strange, yet precious, too—
They steal our tears, then see us through.
Places may fade, and years may depart,
But the past stays in a corner of the heart.

But the past lives forever in a corner of heart.
