A heartfelt conversation with Life, filled with hindsight, missed signals, relationships, loneliness, and lessons learned the hard way.
It is a gentle reminder that life may not teach us before the experience—but through it. And sometimes, growing older simply means understanding ourselves a little better.
# My Dear Life #
My dear Life,
it took me too long to understand you.
People judged me quickly,
while I took years
to understand people.
I trusted relationships
with a child’s heart,
and learned their lessons
only after they hurt me.
You played your moves well,
and I kept losing
because I never learned the game.
I spent precious time
on things that didn’t deserve it,
and discovered loneliness
while searching for belonging.
You gave me signs,
again and again—
but I understood them
only after the moment had passed.
If I had known then
what I know today,
perhaps many things
would have been different.
But maybe that is your secret, Life:
You don’t teach us
before the lesson.
You teach us
through it.
And now,
I may not understand you completely—
but I understand myself
a little better.
Thank you, Life.
