यह कविता स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उत्सव के बीच हमारे समाज की उन सच्चाइयों पर सवाल उठाती है जहाँ आज भी भूख, असमानता, अन्याय, भेदभाव और नफरत मौजूद हैं। यह देश की आज़ादी का अपमान नहीं, बल्कि उसे और सार्थक बनाने की एक संवेदनशील पुकार है—ताकि शहीदों के सपनों का भारत हर नागरिक के लिए सचमुच स्वतंत्र, समान और सम्मानपूर्ण बन सके।
# यह कैसी आज़ादी है?
आओ आज तिरंगा फहराएँ,
भारत माँ के गीत सुनाएँ,
वीरों की कुर्बानी याद करें,
मिलकर आज़ादी का पर्व मनाएँ।
पर दिल के भीतर एक सवाल है,
जो करता मन को बेहद बेहाल है—
क्या केवल सीमा से मिली आज़ादी,
या हर दिल का भी अधिकार है?
कहीं भूख से सूनी आँखें हैं,
कहीं सपनों पर ताले हैं,
कहीं मेहनत करने वाले हाथ
अब भी किस्मत के हवाले हैं।
कहीं महलों में दीप जले हैं,
कहीं झोपड़ी अब भी अँधेरी है,
कहीं उम्मीदें दम तोड़ रही हैं,
कहीं दौलत की बाढ़ घनेरी है।
कहीं सच बोलना मुश्किल है,
कहीं न्याय की राह कठिन है,
कहीं जाति-धर्म की दीवारें,
कहीं नफरत की आँधी है।
तिरंगा आज भी शान से लहराए,
शहीदों का बलिदान हमें याद आए,
पर दिल में एक सवाल फिर आए —
जब हर आँख में खुशहाली नहीं,
हर दिल में बराबरी नहीं,
हर इंसान को सम्मान नहीं—
तो यारों, यह कैसी आज़ादी है?

Yes, absolutely—these challenges are not confined to any one country. India, Japan, and many other societies face their own versions of the same fundamental questions: how do we preserve compassion, dignity, wisdom, and humanity while our world continues to change?
My intention was not simply to point out a problem, but to encourage reflection followed by meaningful action. Even small changes in the way we think, speak, and treat one another can gradually contribute to a better society.

Happy Independence Day. This issue is world wide, I fear. The rich and powerful are determined to stay that way at the expense of the general populace. They easily do so by creating a them and us scenario, so 2 or more groups are polarized, distracting both from what is really going on.. Oh sure, the government may change from time to time, but the routine repeats no matter who is in the big chair. I do understand that not every problem is fixable, but those who have blame those who have not for their own circumstance. It is seldom that simple, but it lets the rich and powerful off the hook. When people are divided against one another, it becomes easier to overlook the deeper questions of fairness, opportunity, and accountability.
