A Little Shop of Dreams is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a magical place where courage, laughter, memories, youth, and hope are freely available.
This poem reminds us that dreams are not things we buy—they are sparks we carry within us. Sometimes, all we need is a gentle reminder to believe in them again.
# My Little Shop of Dreams #
If dreams could be bought,
I would open a little shop
at the corner of Hope and Tomorrow.
No money required.
Just bring your tired heart
and leave your worries at the door.
On my shelves
I would keep bottles of courage,
jars of laughter,
packets of peace,
and tiny drops of sunshine
for rainy days.
There would be a special shelf
called “Once Upon a Time,”
where you could find
the laughter of childhood,
the face of someone you miss,
and moments you thought
time had stolen forever.
I would also keep
a little box marked “Youth.”
Open it carefully.
Inside, you wouldn’t find
younger skin or darker hair—
you would find something better:
the desire to live again.
For those carrying too many worries,
I would have dreams
sharp enough to cut through fear.
For those who have stopped believing,
I would quietly whisper:
“Try once more.”
And at the centre of my shop
would be a large wooden table
with just one word engraved on it—
HOPE
Take it freely.
Take some for yourself,
and some for the person
who may need it tomorrow.
Because dreams are strange treasures.
The more you give away,
the more they grow.
Perhaps, one day,
someone will ask me,
“How much does a dream cost?”
I will smile and say,
“Nothing.
But you must be brave enough
to believe in it.”
And when you leave my little shop,
I hope you carry no parcel in your hands—
only a little more light
inside your heart.
Because I don’t really sell dreams.
I simply remind people
that they still have one.
