# When My Soul Became Rain #

This is a poem about love that goes beyond being together. Using images of rain, leaves, and hearts, it shows that true love doesn’t disappear over time or distance—it turns into strength, peace, and hope within us.

It celebrates the unseen ways one soul keeps supporting another, even after moments have ended.

When My Soul Became Rain

I did not arrive
with thunder in my voice
or lightning in my eyes.

I came quietly—
like the fragrance of rain
kissing the earth,
gentle enough to be felt,
never needing to be heard.

You never saw me fall.

You only noticed
that your silences grew softer,
your weary heart grew lighter,
and the empty spaces within you
began to bloom.

Do not hold me too tightly.

A raindrop lives
only when it is free.

Simply open your heart
as a leaf welcomes the rain—
without fear,
without questions,
without asking
how long the clouds will stay.

If one day I am no longer beside you,
do not search for me in the sky.

Find me instead
in your quiet strength,
your gentle smile,
and your courage to love again.

And if someone asks,

“Where did this peace come from?”

Just smile and say,

“Some souls never truly leave.
They become the rain
that teaches another soul
how to blossom forever.”

  2. This is an absolutely breathtaking piece of poetry, Verma ji. The way you’ve transformed the intangible—love, loss, and memory—into something as palpable and life-giving as rain is truly masterful. The imagery is not just seen but felt, especially the metaphor of the leaf welcoming the rain without fear; it’s a profound lesson in grace and acceptance.

The progression from the quiet arrival to the soul becoming a permanent source of hope is deeply moving. The closing lines are especially powerful—they don’t just end the poem; they leave the reader with a beautiful, lasting truth about how love transcends physical presence. It feels like a comforting embrace for anyone who has ever loved and let go.

Thank you for sharing such a profound piece. It’s one of those rare poems that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading. Dhanyavaad. 🙏

Knowing that the poem touched you so deeply is the greatest reward a writer can receive. Your interpretation of the rain, the leaf, and the journey of love and memory is both thoughtful and moving. It tells me that the poem found not only a reader but also a kindred soul.

You expressed the essence of the poem so wonderfully. I truly believe that love, in its purest form, transcends distance and time. Even when someone is no longer physically present, the kindness, memories, and light they leave behind continue to guide and comfort us through every season of life.

Your thoughtful words mean a great deal to me. Thank you for reading so deeply and for sharing such a meaningful perspective. 🙏🌹

  4. This is far more than a poem about love it is a meditation on the highest form of love, where possession gives way to presence, and presence gently transforms into an eternal inner light. The imagery of rain, leaves, and blossoming is both delicate and profoundly symbolic, reminding us that true love is never measured by physical closeness but by the quiet transformation it leaves within another soul.

I was especially touched by the closing lines: “Some souls never truly leave. They become the rain that teaches another soul how to blossom forever.” What a beautiful way to express that genuine love does not end with absence it lives on as strength, peace, and hope.

A deeply contemplative poem that lingers in the heart long after the last line. My heartfelt appreciation for this exquisite creation. 🙏

I am especially grateful that you saw beyond the surface of the poem and recognized its deeper intention—that love, at its highest, is not about possession but about presence, quiet transformation, and the enduring light we leave in one another’s lives.

    • Beautifully expressed. As a pluviophile, I couldn’t agree more. Rain is a wonderful metaphor for life—it nourishes, heals, washes away yesterday’s dust, and reminds us that even the darkest clouds carry the promise of renewal. A truly touching poem. 🌧️💙✨
