A heartfelt poem about grief, loneliness, and healing, revealing the hidden struggles people often hide behind their smiles. It honestly expresses personal pain in a way that resonates with many unheard voices.
I Don’t Write Songs #
I do not write songs.
Songs are too small
for the things I have felt.
I write the silence
that sits beside me at 2 a.m.,
the kind that knows
every unfinished sentence
inside a breaking heart.
I chew on words
until they taste like memory.
I drink emotions slowly,
like अधूरी मोहब्बत वाली चाय,
letting every ache settle
somewhere beneath my ribs.
I have seen life closely—
in the early loss of a father
hidden behind silent tears,
in mothers who carry entire storms
inside exhausted hands,
in lovers who whisper “I’m fine”
while their souls quietly collapse.
No,
I do not write perfect poetry.
My lines are uneven
because healing is uneven.
My verses tremble
because emotions do too.
I write about people
who laugh loudly in crowded rooms
but fall apart
the moment the door closes.
I write for the ones
who were taught to stay strong
even when sadness
was eating them alive.
And maybe that is why
my words feel heavy—
because they were never simply written,
they were survived.
I do not write songs.
I write the reality of life
most people are too afraid
to say out loud.
And if my poetry hurts a little,
perhaps it is because
truth always does
before it begins to heal us.

You have explained it so beautifully ..The best part about it being it is so raw, honest and realistic and every word narrates a story so profound that a layman would never be able to understand the hidden meaning behind its layers .

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reflection. 😊
I really appreciate how deeply you engaged with the piece and how clearly you saw the layers within it.
There’s something special about raw, unfiltered expression—it often carries meanings that sit just beneath the surface, and it’s always meaningful when a reader takes the time to uncover that depth.
Grateful for your words and the care you brought to the interpretation. 🌿

This is seriously moving. It hits so hard because it’s too real. That line about “अधूरी मोहब्बत वाली चाय” and the truth hurting before it heals—pure genius. It’s a huge comfort for the ones who keep it all hidden behind a smile. Thank you for writing this reality, Uncle. Keep pouring your heart out like this. Full respect.

When words written from pain find a place in someone else’s heart, the writing feels meaningful.
I’m truly touched that those lines spoke to you so deeply. Some emotions stay hidden behind smiles,
and poetry becomes their quiet voice.
Your love, understanding, and respect mean more than you know. Grateful beyond words 🙏

Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. 🤍
It means a great deal to know that the poem reminded you of your mother. That line came from thinking about the quiet strength so many mothers carry every single day, often without anyone fully seeing it.

This doesn’t just read like poetry, it feels like someone gently opening their heart and letting every hidden ache breathe through words. The honesty, the quiet pain, and the softness in your lines stay with the reader long after the poem ends. Truly beautiful and deeply felt. ✨

Thank you for reading the poem with such tenderness and depth. I think the most meaningful poetry comes from the quiet places we usually keep hidden, so it means a lot that you could feel that honesty and softness within the lines.

There is one single moment of exploration. When you pose for a picture and someone says smile.
You either smile from inside yourself or you make either side of your mouth form into a smile.
There’s a big difference there.

That’s such a thoughtful observation.
A real smile reaches far beyond the face — you can feel when it comes from somewhere genuine inside a person. The difference between an expression and an emotion is subtle, but somehow instantly recognizable. Beautifully said. ✨

In the end, the most meaningful words are often the simplest and most honest ones — the ones that come straight from the heart.
