# I Watched You Fly #

This is a reflection on love, loss, and acceptance. It uses gentle imagery to show the strength in letting go.

Set during a quiet morning farewell at the airport, the poem explores memory and the idea that some goodbyes help us heal.
It is a tribute to a past relationship and the grace that comes when moving forward.

“I Watched You Fly”

Those were the days — golden and bright,
When you were radiant, and I was full of light.
Your laughter rang like a familiar song,
And I was young, where nothing felt wrong.

But today…
It’s morning — soft and still,
And I am driving, guided by thought, not will.
You’re not here — just the memory remains,
Woven in silence like gentle rains.

The world around me is calm and wide,
And strangely, I feel peace inside.
I brought your memories to the edge of goodbye,
To the gates where departures touch the sky.

My eyes are dry — not wet, not clear,
Just steady, no trace of fear.
It feels like… it’s truly over now,
No breaking heart, no solemn vow.

I stand and watch as your plane ascends,
No more pretending, no need to defend.
Perhaps not all love is meant to stay —
Some goodbyes help us find our way.

  1. Verma ji ! This poem beautifully captures the bittersweet peace that comes with letting go. The imagery of a quiet morning and the ascending plane mirrors the gentle release of a love that was cherished but not meant to last. The closing lines—*”Some goodbyes help us find our way”*—speak to the wisdom of accepting endings as part of healing. A tender, heartfelt reflection. ✨

    • Thank you so much for your thoughtful and touching words.
It means a great deal to me that you connected with the emotions woven into the poem.

Indeed, some goodbyes come not with pain, but with a quiet understanding — and perhaps, a soft guiding light toward peace. Your reflection feels like a gentle embrace. 🙏✨
