One of My Favorite Moments 🎁

Daily writing prompt
Describe one of your favorite moments.

Hello dear friends,

I hope this blog finds you in a cheerful and contented mood.

Today’s writing prompt — “Describe one of your favorite moments” — feels especially close to my heart.

Life is made up of countless fleeting memories, but once in a while, a moment arrives like a gentle breeze that fills our sails with joy, gratitude, and awe.

For me, such a moment unfolded just yesterday — on my birthday.

As the day began, I felt a wave of warmth as birthday wishes poured in from family, friends, and acquaintances.

Each text message, phone call, and WhatsApp voice note added a sparkle to the day. It was heartening to see how people from different chapters of my life paused to send their blessings.

Birthdays, I’ve come to realize, are not merely a reminder of growing older, but an affirmation of the love we’ve collected along the way.

I had posted a heartfelt blog in the morning, reflecting on my life journey. It received touching comments and encouraging responses—another bouquet of affection from my digital family. I thought that was the highlight of the day.

But destiny had saved the best for the evening.

Around 7:00 PM, I made my way to the community clubhouse — a place I frequent almost daily for one of my favorite activities: playing Table Tennis.

It’s not just a game for me; it’s a therapy, a joy, a ritual that brings rhythm to my evenings. My TT friends and I often joke, laugh, sweat, and cheer each other on — we’re like a small family formed by bouncing balls and shared laughter.

As I stepped into the hall, bat in hand and mind focused on the match ahead, something felt different.

The lights were brighter than usual. The usual clang of rackets and banter had been replaced by a quiet suspense. And then — out of nowhere — a big, beautiful cake rolled out on a trolley, and the whole hall erupted into a chorus of “Happy Birthday to You

I froze. My heart skipped a beat.

There they stood, gathered around the cake — my beloved TT friends — their faces lit up with wide, childlike grins that instantly melted my heart.

In that moment, time stood still. They had orchestrated this beautiful surprise just for me, out of pure affection and camaraderie.

I was deeply moved, especially by dear Noddy, whose thoughtful gesture and warm heart brought everyone together.

I can’t express enough how grateful I am to Noddy and every TT member who made this occasion not just memorable, but unforgettable — a celebration etched forever in the diary of my soul.

The candles flickered with warmth, and their eyes gleamed with affection. I couldn’t help but smile widely and with moist eyes.

The cake-cutting ceremony was simple, yet profoundly meaningful. We took photos, shared jokes, and exchanged playful banter.

For a moment, age, titles, and worries vanished — replaced by a beautiful feeling of belonging and celebration.

This was not a lavish party, not a grand feast. It was something purer: a gesture of love.

And that is why this moment stands out among the many milestones of my life. It was a reminder that we are never alone — that genuine connections, built slowly and honestly, eventually blossom into deep friendships.

In that sports hall, surrounded by familiar faces and joyful hearts, I felt celebrated not just for aging a year, but for being a part of something special.

What made the moment even more touching was that this group of friends — bound not by blood but by shared interests — had remembered my special day and gone out of their way to make it unforgettable.

Their thoughtful surprise was a silent message: You matter to us.

As we resumed our TT matches with slightly sticky fingers (and sugar-fueled energy!), I played with a lighter spirit and a fuller heart.

The laughter that echoed off the walls wasn’t just about the game — it was the sound of community, of appreciation, of moments that make life worth living.

To describe one of my favorite moments is to talk about that evening — where joy arrived not with fanfare but with sincerity; where the most beautiful gift was time and togetherness.

In a world that often rushes past, these little islands of celebration restore our spirit. And so, dear friends, if ever you wonder whether your presence or gesture makes a difference — let me tell you, it does.

Sometimes, the surprise you plan for someone becomes the memory they’ll cherish forever.

Thank you, my TT family, for giving me this magical moment.

With a grateful heart,
~ Vijay Verma

    • Thank you so much for your warm belated wishes and such kind words! 🙏
It truly means a lot to know that my posts resonate with optimism and faith—that’s the light I try to hold onto and share.

As for repelling negativity—honestly, it’s a daily practice. I’ve learned to embrace silence, reflect often, stay close to nature, and express myself through writing and art. These simple acts help me process emotions rather than suppress them.

it’s okay to stumble… as long as we rise again with a smile and a softer heart.

I’d be happy to share more anytime. Let’s keep learning and growing together. 🌱✨
