#Art is the Best Therapy#

I love Art because it is a form of therapy that helps us stay in good mental health.

The use of artistic methods to treat psychological disorders and enhance mental health is known as art therapy.

Yes,  Art therapy can help to improve mental health for people of all ages, particularly for the elderly like me.

Generally, we have been using the arts for communication, self-expression, and healing for thousands of years.

Creative Expression for mental healing

But art therapy has become a formal program since the 1940s. It is a technique rooted in the idea that creative expression can foster healing and mental well-being.

Presently, even Doctors noted that individuals living with mental stress often expressed themselves in drawings and other artworks.

Balance your Emotions

This has been helpful to explore the use of art as a healing strategy. Since then, art has become an important part of the therapeutic field and is being used in some assessment and treatment techniques.

Friends, in the present time, life is so challenging that we often suffer from stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental illness. These are very common now. I also suffer sometimes.

I think there are multiple ways to deal with mental illnesses. Some people like to talk and share their problems with friends and relatives.

But whenever I suffer from anxiety, I find so many ways to stay away from any mental illness…

Writing is a form of Therapy

Writing my thoughts. ..

I always try to write my thoughts in my personal diary. Now,  I have been sharing my thoughts and life experiences through the blog post. I know that one can master the skill through trial & error.

Now, I got confidence and find it easy to write on various topics of my choice. I  also share those articles with you all. This keeps me focused and mentally cool.

Mediation for wellness

Earlier I had the habit of getting up late in the morning.  Since the time of lockdown, I started paying special attention to my health. I have included a morning walk in my daily routine and follow it daily.

Along with morning walks, I also do yoga practice and meditation. It has benefited me that my minor ailments are getting cured and I am feeling better day by day.

This hobby has become my habit now. I would like to request you also to do this exercise and feel the difference.

Think about things differently

Exercise keeps us fit.

I do a morning walk followed by some exercise like yoga and swimming. Humans are natural learners—and we learn best when we perform the tasks what trying to learn.  No matter how old you are..

Yes, I created a new hobby of swimming and started at the age of 64. I am a good swimmer indeed. Ha ha ha.

Creativity is magic

Drawing & Art keeps me going.

People say that pictures speak. By the way, everyone learns how to draw in his childhood. I also used to draw in my school days.  Again I started my hibernated hobby of drawing at the age of 64.

I am doing a variety of sketches and drawings using graphite pencil and Pestel colors. A drawing teacher is teaching me through online classes. I have made around 1000 sketches and feel happy to see those old sketches. I am improving my skill day to day.

I also share my art work and drawing through my blog. It gives me immense pleasure to see beautiful compliments from all of you. I believe that my drawing and painting are the best art therapy to stay in good mental health.

Yes, creative art is one of-the-art therapy used in the treatment of mental illness and stays happy all the time.

There are other benefits as well that includes:

• A self-expression of feelings

• Being able to communicate emotions that may be hard to do verbally

• It’s a natural and safe coping mechanism for mental illnesses

• It improves concentration

• It creates a safe space and allows a mental escape from everyday tasks

• It increases self-esteem over time as you take notice of the growth of your skills through art therapy

Art Therapy brings peace

However, I am an amateur at best, but I love being creative. My creativity is an outburst of my passion. It offers happiness and coolness to the brain. My mind goes to a place where reality pauses and rests. My thoughts take a breather which is all I ever want.

We also use this art as a means to enhance the ambiance of the room where we live in. Art has a significant impact on our mental well-being as well. In fact, there are tons of health and wellness benefits that can be felt while doing art work regularly.
