Hello dear friends,
I hope this Blog finds you in a cheerful mood.
Today’s writing prompt question is very interesting: “What’s the best online course you’ve ever taken?”
When I first read this question, I started thinking about all the courses available today. There are courses on artificial intelligence, photography, writing, painting, fitness, finance, cooking, spirituality and almost everything under the sun.
But then I smiled.
Perhaps the best course I have ever taken was not available on any website. It was called LIFE.
And my most interesting module began after retirement.
“Sometimes retirement is not the end of your working life; it is the beginning of your learning life.”

❤️ From Banker to Lifelong Learner
I spent more than three decades in banking. Numbers, accounts, targets, customers, responsibilities and deadlines were part of my everyday life.
Banking taught me discipline, patience and responsibility.
But retirement gave me something different:
Time.
And with time came an opportunity to discover the person hiding behind the designation.
I realised that I had spent many years working for a living, but perhaps I could now spend my time living creatively.
That thought changed everything.

❤️ My Retirement Classroom
After retirement, I began exploring things that had always attracted me.
I started writing more seriously. My blog became a place where I could share thoughts, experiences and lessons from life. One post led to another, and slowly writing became a part of my daily routine.
Then came books.
Then poetry.
Then painting.
Then sketching.
Then YouTube.
Then photography and photo walks.
Each new interest felt like enrolling in another online course—except there was no admission fee and no fixed syllabus!
“Retirement gave me the freedom to choose subjects that my heart had always wanted to study.”
❤️ Technology Became My Friend
I still remember the excitement of bringing my first home computer in December 1993 for my children. It had a 486 processor, MS-DOS, Windows 3.1 and a CRT monitor.
Technology has travelled a very long distance since then.
And so have I.
Today, I continue learning about blogging, digital tools, photography, video creation and artificial intelligence.
Sometimes technology surprises me.
Sometimes it confuses me.
And sometimes I make mistakes.
But I have learned not to be embarrassed by not knowing something.
Not knowing is not failure. Refusing to learn is.

❤️ The Joy of Being a Beginner
There is something beautiful about being a beginner.
When I began painting, I was not an artist.
When I began sketching, I was learning the foundation.
When I began writing, I was simply putting my thoughts on paper.
When I began photography, I was learning to see ordinary things differently.
And perhaps that is what learning really means—not becoming perfect, but becoming better than yesterday.
“A beginner who keeps going will eventually go farther than an expert who stops learning.”
❤️ What Is the Best Course?
So, if you ask me today, “What is the best online course you have ever taken?”
My answer would be slightly different.
The best course is the one that makes you curious.
The one that makes you wake up wanting to learn something.
The one that gives you confidence to try something you have never tried before.
The one that changes your perspective rather than merely adding another certificate to your collection.
And perhaps that is why I believe retirement should never mean retirement from learning.

❤️ The Course Has No Final Exam
My journey from banker to blogger, writer, poet, painter, sketcher and photographer was never part of a carefully designed curriculum.
Life simply kept adding new chapters.
And I kept saying:
“Why not?”
That may be the most powerful learning attitude of all.
Today, I believe that age is not a full stop. It is only another comma in the sentence of life.
There is always something new to learn, something new to create, somewhere new to walk, someone new to meet, and some forgotten part of ourselves waiting to be rediscovered.
So, what is the best course I have ever taken?
Life.
And the best part is that I am still enrolled.
There is no retirement from this course.
No final examination.
No graduation ceremony.
Just one beautiful assignment every morning:
“Learn something. Create something. Share something. And live fully.”
- The classroom is everywhere.
- The teacher is experience.
- The textbook is life.
- And the lesson continues.

BE HAPPY… BE ACTIVE… BE FOCUSED… BE ALIVE
