A tender poem about hope, healing, and the art of staying young at heart. “This reminds us that we don’t need wealth or miracles to begin again—sometimes, all we need is a forgotten dream, a little courage, and someone willing to share hope.
Visit My Dream Shop
Come closer, my friend.
Don’t cry for the past.
Live in the present,
and let hope light your path.
I’ve opened a little shop of dreams
where hearts can ask for more.
No glittering coins are needed here,
no wealth, no golden key—
just bring the dreams you buried once
and leave your doubts with me.
Upon my shelves, in jars of light,
I keep forgotten skies—
the laughter of childhood days,
the sparkle in young eyes.
I sell a balm for loneliness,
a song for silent pain,
and drops of joy gathered
from the fragrance after rain.
If you miss the sound of laughter,
I’ll give you some to keep.
If memories make your eyes grow wet,
I’ll teach your heart to weep—
for tears are not signs of defeat;
sometimes they wash the soul
and make a broken piece of life
feel beautiful and whole.
In one small corner,
I keep the art of living—
not to dwell in the past,
but to awaken the heart.
For youth is not the absence of age,
nor are wrinkles something to hide.
Youth is waking every morning
with a little dream inside.
So come, my friend.
Step inside.
The little shop is open.
I sell no miracles.
I make no promises.
I simply keep alive
the beautiful possibility
that tomorrow
may yet be kinder than today.
And if you have forgotten
how to dream,
I will lend you one of mine.

Dear Verma ji,
What a beautiful gift you’ve given us with “Visit My Dream Shop.” 🌸
Your words feel like a warm hand reaching out in the dark—gentle, reassuring, and full of quiet strength. You’ve reminded us that hope doesn’t demand grand gestures or deep pockets; it only asks for a willing heart and a dream worth revisiting.
I love how your little shop asks for no coins, only courage. The way you’ve captured healing—not as something that erases pain, but as something that honors it—is so tender and true. Those lines about tears washing the soul and making broken pieces feel whole… they’ll stay with me for a long time.
And your reminder that youth isn’t about wrinkle-free skin but about “waking every morning with a little dream inside”—that’s the kind of wisdom we all need framed on our walls.
Thank you for keeping this shop open for all of us. Thank you for lending us a dream when we’ve forgotten how to dream ourselves.
Keep writing, keep healing, keep shining. The world is kinder because of voices like yours. ✨
With gratitude and admiration,
Srikanth
