जब जिंदगी का हर काम कहने लगा—पहले OTP बताइए 😂
दोस्तों, आजकल मैं एक ऐसी चीज से बहुत परेशान हूँ, जिसके बिना digital life चलती ही नहीं—और जिसके साथ life चलाना भी आसान नहीं है।
जी हाँ, मैं बात कर रहा हूँ OTP यानी One-Time Password की।
Bank का message आता है—
“अपना OTP किसी के साथ share न करें, वरना आपका bank account खाली हो सकता है।”
अब डरना तो बनता है!
लेकिन दूसरी तरफ जिंदगी का हर दूसरा काम पूछता है—
“OTP बताइए।”
कभी-कभी लगता है कि OTP अब One Time Password नहीं रहा। यह तो “Our Time Problem” बन गया है!
मेरे घर का OTP Drama
मैं retired हूँ और घर पर रहता हूँ। इसलिए courier वालों से मेरा सामना लगभग रोज होता रहता है।
Doorbell बजती है।
मैं दरवाजा खोलता हूँ।
Courier वाला मुस्कुराकर कहता है—
“Sir, OTP बताइए।”
मैं मुस्कुराना भूल जाता हूँ!
सामान किसी और ने मंगाया होता है और OTP उसके mobile पर आया होता है।
अब पहले उस व्यक्ति को phone करो—
“भाई, OTP क्या आया है?”
फिर वह message खोजेगा।
फिर OTP बताएगा।
फिर मैं courier वाले को बताऊँगा।
तब जाकर parcel मेरे हाथ में आएगा।
सच कहूँ तो online shopping से सामान मंगाने वाले का समय बचता है, लेकिन OTP लेने और बताने में मेरा कीमती समय चला जाता है।
और मेरे लिए समय बहुत कीमती है।
मैं उस समय में blog लिख सकता हूँ, painting कर सकता हूँ, पढ़ सकता हूँ या बस आराम से चाय पी सकता हूँ।
लेकिन OTP महाराज का आदेश है—
“पहले मुझे खोजो, फिर अपना काम करो!”
जब OTP ने ₹2,000 का Discount खा लिया
एक दिन तो OTP ने मेरे साथ कमाल ही कर दिया।
मैं एक मॉल में shopping करने गया था। Mood बहुत अच्छा था और मैं अकेला ही घूम रहा था।
Garments खरीदने के इरादे से Max Fashionwear में प्रवेश किया।
वहाँ अच्छे discounts चल रहे थे।
फिर क्या था—मैंने भी दिल खोलकर shopping कर ली।
लगभग ₹10,000 की खरीदारी!
Billing counter पर salesman ने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा—
“Sir, आपको ₹2,000 का discount मिलेगा।”
मेरी आँखों में चमक आ गई।
फिर उसने कहा—
“बस OTP बताइए।”
मैंने अपना mobile देखा।
OTP नहीं आया।
फिर भेजा गया।
फिर भेजा गया।
फिर भी OTP का कोई अता-पता नहीं!
तभी अचानक मुझे याद आया—
जिस mobile number पर OTP registered था, वह मेरा दूसरा mobile था।
और वह mobile?
घर पर!
घर?
Locked!
चाबी?
मेरे पास!
अब dilemma यह था कि ₹2,000 का discount बचाने के लिए घर जाना पड़ेगा, दूसरा mobile लाना पड़ेगा और फिर mall वापस आना पड़ेगा।
लेकिन आने-जाने में लगभग ₹1,500 का खर्च हो जाता।
मैंने हिसाब लगाया—
₹2,000 discount बचाने के लिए ₹1,500 खर्च!
यानी ₹500 बचेंगे और साथ में पूरा दिन भी जाएगा!
आखिर मैंने discount छोड़ दिया।
मेरे पसंद किए हुए garments मेरे हाथ में थे, लेकिन मेरे दिमाग में सिर्फ एक बात घूम रही थी—
“सामान मैंने खरीदा है, फैसला OTP ने किया!”
उस दिन OTP ने मेरे ₹2,000 के discount पर डाका डाल दिया।
OTP का अगला हमला: Pollution Certificate
मुझे लगा था कि OTP का chapter यहीं खत्म हो गया।
लेकिन नहीं!
एक दिन मैं अपने native place Khagaul गया हुआ था। दोस्तों के साथ घूमने का program बना।
मेरी car भी वहीं थी।
मैं एक दोस्त के साथ petrol भरवाने जा रहा था। रास्ते में courier से एक delivery भी लेनी थी। Delivery centre आधे घंटे बाद खुलना था।
मैंने दोस्त को वहीं छोड़ दिया और कहा—
“तुम delivery ले लो। मैं petrol भरवाकर वापस आता हूँ।”
और, गलती से नहीं बल्कि भरोसे से, अपना mobile भी उसे दे दिया।
मैं petrol pump पहुँचा।
वहाँ पता चला कि मेरा Pollution Certificate expire हो चुका है।
मैंने सोचा—चलो, इसे भी renew करा लेते हैं।
Counter पर पहुँचा।
और फिर वही पुराना दुश्मन सामने था—
“OTP बताइए।”
मैंने जेब टटोली।
Mobile?
दोस्त के पास!
मैंने समझाया—
“भाई साहब, mobile मेरे दोस्त के पास है।”
लेकिन जवाब मिला—
“OTP के बिना renewal नहीं होगा।”
मैंने सोचा—पहले दोस्त को pick करता हूँ, mobile लेता हूँ और फिर Pollution Certificate renew कराता हूँ।
लेकिन किस्मत को शायद कुछ और ही मंजूर था।
थोड़ी दूर ही गया था कि Traffic Inspector ने मुझे रोक लिया।
उन्होंने कहा—
“Pollution Certificate expired है। ₹10,000 का challan होगा।”
मेरे पैरों तले जमीन खिसक गई।
मैंने सोचा—
“आज तो OTP ने मुझे सीधे Traffic Department पहुँचा दिया!”
मेरे पास ₹10,000 cash नहीं था।
Online payment करता तो कैसे करता?
Mobile तो दोस्त के पास था!
मैंने Inspector को अपनी पूरी कहानी सुनाई।
“सर, certificate renew कराने ही जा रहा था… OTP के लिए mobile चाहिए… mobile दोस्त के पास है… मैं अभी सब ठीक कर दूँगा…”
मैंने अपनी पूरी मजबूरी समझाई और बहुत विनती की।
किसी तरह मामला संभला और मैं वहाँ से निकल पाया।
लेकिन उस दिन मेरे मन में एक सवाल जरूर आया—
“अगर mobile मेरे पास नहीं है, तो क्या मैं digital दुनिया में आधा इंसान रह जाता हूँ?”
OTP जरूरी है, लेकिन इतना भी नहीं!
मैं यह बिल्कुल नहीं कह रहा कि OTP बेकार है।
Banking और online transactions में OTP हमारी security के लिए बहुत जरूरी है।
Cyber fraud के इस दौर में सावधानी बेहद आवश्यक है।
OTP किसी अनजान व्यक्ति के साथ share नहीं करना चाहिए।
लेकिन सवाल यह है कि क्या हर छोटी-बड़ी सुविधा को OTP के साथ बाँध देना जरूरी है?
आज bank में OTP।
कल courier में OTP।
Shopping में OTP।
Certificate में OTP।
Payment में OTP।
Login में OTP।
और पता नहीं कल क्या होगा!
कभी-कभी मुझे डर लगता है कि सुबह उठकर mirror में अपना चेहरा देखने जाऊँ और mirror कह दे—
“Identity verify करने के लिए OTP डालिए!”
मैं कहूँ—
“भाई, चेहरा मेरा है!”
Mirror कहे—
“पहले OTP!” 😄
Technology हमारी सुविधा के लिए है
Technology ने हमारी जिंदगी को बहुत आसान बनाया है।
Online shopping से घर बैठे सामान मिल जाता है।
Online banking से bank जाने की जरूरत कम हो गई है।
Digital payments ने cash रखने की परेशानी कम कर दी है।
लेकिन technology तभी सफल है जब वह सुविधा के साथ सरलता भी दे।
अगर हर कदम पर verification, password, PIN और OTP की जरूरत पड़े, तो सुविधा धीरे-धीरे frustration में बदल जाती है।
खासकर हम senior citizens के लिए digital दुनिया कभी-कभी थोड़ी overwhelming हो जाती है।
हम technology से भागना नहीं चाहते।
हम technology को अपनाना चाहते हैं।
बस हमारी एक छोटी-सी इच्छा है—
Technology हमें चलाए नहीं, हम technology को चलाएँ।
और आखिर में—मेरी OTP से विनम्र शिकायत
OTP साहब!
आप security के लिए आए थे।
हमने आपका स्वागत किया।
लेकिन अब आप bank से निकलकर shopping तक, courier से निकलकर pollution certificate तक, हर जगह पहुँच गए हैं।
आपकी इतनी popularity तो शायद किसी celebrity की भी नहीं होगी!
इसलिए मेरी आपसे सिर्फ एक विनती है—
हमारी security का ध्यान रखिए, लेकिन हमारा समय भी बचाइए।
क्योंकि retirement के बाद समय ही तो हमारी सबसे बड़ी पूँजी है।
मैं उस समय में blog लिखना चाहता हूँ।
Painting करना चाहता हूँ।
दोस्तों के साथ हँसना चाहता हूँ।
किताब पढ़ना चाहता हूँ।
और जिंदगी को थोड़ा और जीना चाहता हूँ।
इसलिए, प्यारे OTP—
मेरी जिंदगी में रहो, लेकिन मेरी जिंदगी पर राज मत करो!
और हाँ…
अगर इस Blog को पढ़ने के बाद आप मुझसे पूछें—
“Feedback देने के लिए OTP बताइए।”
तो मैं समझ जाऊँगा—
OTP सचमुच हमारे जीवन पर राज करने आ चुका है! 😄

“Our Time Problem!” 😄

That ₹2,000 discount math (spending ₹1,500 to save ₹500) is life’s biggest economic truth, and the Traffic Inspector scene is like the climax of a superhit comedy film! 😂

I’m especially happy that the ₹2,000 discount episode and the Traffic Inspector climax made you laugh—because both were painful in real life, but apparently quite entertaining on paper! 😄
And yes, “Our Time Problem” seems to have become more famous than “One Time Password” itself!
As for your suggestion to the courier guy—next time I’ll definitely try:

अब तो हालत यह है कि OTP के बिना आदमी अपना काम नहीं कर सकता, और OTP के साथ काम करने में आदमी का धैर्य नहीं बचता! 😄
“Our Time Problem” वाली व्याख्या तो बिल्कुल दिल में उतर गई।
खासकर ₹2,000 discount और ₹10,000 challan वाली घटनाएँ पढ़कर लगा OTP सिर्फ verification नहीं करता, कभी-कभी हमारे फैसले और बजट दोनों verify कर देता है! 😂
और आख़िर में Mirror वाला OTP…

I assume that the OTP is common to your country, but I think every country has its selected sales tactics and scams designed to get as much personal info from you as they can glean (both business and government). Nothing comes for free these days and very little comes at a discount, without some sort of tradeoff. The problem is that many give up their personal info without a question. It would be funny if it was not so serious. Have a great day. Allan
