Sometimes, growing older is simply learning how to become young at heart all over again.

Growing Younger

They say,
“Look at you!
You are growing young again—
the pride of every gathering,
the sparkle in every room.”

They ask me for the secret,
the magic behind my youthful glow.
I smile and say,
“How can I explain
all the stories life has taught me to know?”

I have carried storms
inside my quiet heart.
I have walked through shadows,
fallen apart,
and somehow learned
to make a brand-new start.

Today, my life is a canvas,
and I choose the colours I want.
I paint my mornings with hope,
my evenings with gratitude,
and my nights
with beautiful dreams.

Once, I lived mostly for others—
their expectations,
their approval,
their happiness.

Now, I have finally learned
that living for myself
is not selfishness;
it is simply
another way of breathing.

I no longer drink
the bitter poison of arguments.
I have discovered something sweeter—
the quiet nectar of compromise,
forgiveness,
and letting go.

I have stopped carrying
every old wound
like a medal of honour.

Some battles
are better left unfinished.
Some arguments
are better left in silence.
And some people
are better loved
from a peaceful distance.

I don’t count candles
on my birthday anymore.
I count the mornings
that still make me curious.

So, yes—
perhaps I am growing young.

Not because time
has turned backward,
but because my heart
has stopped looking backward.

I don’t want
to relive my past.

I want to live my present.

I don’t chase youth anymore—
I carry it within me.

And if someone asks
how I still look so young,
I’ll simply smile and say:

“Age is what the calendar records;
youth is what the heart refuses to surrender.”

Yes, I am growing younger.
