As writers, we often spend our lives searching—not only for the right words, but for the missing pieces of ourselves. Every memory, every emotion, and every poem becomes part of that journey.
I Am a Missing Piece is a heartfelt reflection on self-discovery, reminding us that perhaps we are not meant to be perfect—only to keep growing, one word and one beautiful piece at a time.
# I Am a Missing Piece #
I am a missing piece.
Not broken.
Not lost.
Just… unfinished.
I am a writer.
My thoughts live
in scattered places—
some hidden in memories,
some resting in old dreams,
and some still waiting
to be found.
Every poem I write
is a journey
to gather those pieces.
Sometimes
I find one
in an old photograph.
Sometimes
in the fragrance
of a cup of tea.
Sometimes
in the silence
between two heartbeats.
People think
writers create stories.
Perhaps.
But often,
we write
to find ourselves.
Every word
reveals
a forgotten fragment.
Every poem
heals
an invisible wound.
Will I ever
be complete?
I no longer ask.
Perhaps
life was never meant
to give us
all the pieces.
Perhaps
the beauty lies
in the search itself.
So I keep writing.
Not to become famous—
but to become
whole.
And with every poem,
I find
one more piece
of myself.

I would say this is such an honest reflection. You have very well said that a writer finds a thought , an inspiration in he mundane objects of life for they find beauty in everything and that’s how they create a piece of art .

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous words. I’m truly touched by your understanding of the writer’s journey. I believe inspiration often hides in the simplest moments and the most ordinary things—we just need to pause and notice them.
Every small observation has the potential to become a meaningful story or a heartfelt poem. Your beautiful reflection perfectly captures that spirit. Thank you for reading so deeply and for encouraging me with your kind appreciation

Beautifully written. Every story we write is also a journey of self-discovery. Sometimes the words we seek are the very ones that help us find ourselves. Thank you for sharing this inspiring reflection. ✍️📖✨

Thank you so much for your beautiful and thoughtful words. I couldn’t agree more—every story we write becomes a journey inward as much as outward. Often, the words we place on a page reveal parts of ourselves we never knew were waiting to be discovered. Your inspiring reflection has truly touched my heart. Wishing you many more meaningful moments with your pen and your soul.

Verma ji, this is absolutely beautiful.
Your words carry such quiet wisdom and gentle honesty. The way you’ve woven the metaphor of being a “missing piece” throughout—not as something broken, but as something unfinished—is deeply moving.
I especially love how you find fragments of yourself in the simplest moments: an old photograph, the fragrance of tea, the silence between heartbeats. It’s a reminder that self-discovery isn’t always loud or dramatic—it often lives in the quiet spaces we almost overlook.
The closing lines are pure magic. The shift from asking “Will I ever be complete?” to “Perhaps the beauty lies in the search itself”—that’s not just poetry, that’s life’s truth, beautifully captured.
Thank you for sharing this piece of your heart. It’s a gift to any writer who has ever felt lost, and a comfort to anyone still gathering their own pieces.
Keep writing. The world needs more of your voice.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a generous and beautifully expressed reflection. Your words have touched me more deeply than I can adequately express.
I am especially grateful that you understood the metaphor of the “missing piece” not as a symbol of weakness, but as an invitation to keep growing and discovering. That was the very emotion I hoped to convey.
Your observation that self-discovery often happens in the quiet, ordinary moments is profoundly true. It is in an old photograph, the aroma of a cup of tea, or a moment of silence that life gently reveals its deepest lessons.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt and encouraging words. They truly mean a great deal to me. I couldn’t agree more—writing is far more than putting words on a page; it is a journey of healing, self-discovery, and continuous growth.
Every story we write leaves a small imprint on our own hearts while, hopefully, touching the hearts of others as well.

Thank you so much for your kind and reassuring words. They truly made me smile.
Perhaps you’re right—we are not really missing a piece; we are simply evolving, discovering new parts of ourselves with each passing day. I’m so glad the peaceful intention of the poem reached you.
Your thoughtful perspective adds a beautiful layer to its meaning. Thank you for reading with such warmth and generosity. It means more than you know. 🙏💙

Good morning, Thank you so much for your beautiful and thought-provoking words. 🙏
I was deeply touched by your analogy of life as a search for the missing pieces of a puzzle. I completely agree that writing is often less about creating stories and more about discovering ourselves through them. Every story we write reveals a little more of who we are.
