# Walking Beside Time #

A rainy morning in a quiet park led to an unexpected meeting with a remarkable 96-year-old man, turning a simple walk into an unforgettable experience.

His words and habits taught me that the key to a long life is found in daily choices—gratitude, discipline, kindness, movement, and a joyful attitude. This is a story about discovering timeless wisdom in ordinary moments and understanding what it means to walk alongside time.

Walking Beside Time

The morning called—

not with words,

but with birdsong,

the scent of rain,

and a sky

wrapped in silver clouds.

I stepped outside,

thinking

I was chasing health.

Instead,

I found wisdom.

Beneath a flowering tree

walked a man

whose years

had crossed a century,

yet whose smile

still belonged to spring.

His footsteps were slow,

but his spirit

outran time.

He simply said,

“Don’t chase life.
Walk with it.”

The rain applauded softly.

The wind carried

his quiet lessons—

drink deeply,

move daily,

rest peacefully,

laugh often,

and let gratitude

be your longest journey.

As we parted,

I realized

I had not walked

through a park.

I had walked

beside Time itself.

And Time had whispered,

“A beautiful life
is not counted in years,
but in mornings
lived with wonder.”

  5. With age comes wisdom. I’d say your 96 year old friend had achieved the pinnacle of wisdom. If I had to chase life, I am afraid it would be a short race. Best to slow down and take in the beauty, cherishing each moment, sight, sound and scent. Have a great day. Allan
