# The City of My Dreams #

The City of My Dreams is a touching poem about a place where love beats hatred, kindness replaces division, and everyone feels they belong.

It captures a shared desire for peace, compassion, and connection, reminding us that our dream world starts with our daily choices.

# The City of My Dreams #

I dream of a city, gentle and bright,
Where every heart is filled with light.
Where hope shines softly like the stars,
And love can heal our deepest scars.

Where every street wears a smiling face,
And kindness walks with quiet grace.
Where every alley sings its song,
And no one feels they don’t belong.

May mornings bring their golden rays,
To warm our hearts and bless our days.
No walls of hatred, fear, or pride—
Just open arms stretched far and wide.

Where tired eyes can rest in peace,
And silent sorrows slowly cease.
Where tears may fall, yet still remind
That stronger joys are ours to find.

May we be bound by threads of care,
With hands to hold and hopes to share.
May every stranger turn a friend,
And broken roads begin to mend.

Where moonlit nights hum gentle songs,
And dreams take all our hearts along.
Where love becomes our truest theme,
And life fulfills its sweetest dream.

Oh, when will such a morning rise,
Waiting that day for God’s surprise.
Until that day, let us all strive
To keep this dream of love alive.

  2. What a beautiful and soul-stirring poem, Verma ji. Your words weave a vision of the world as it could be—gentle, inclusive, and radiant with love. I was particularly moved by the shift in the second stanza, where the “tired eyes” and “silent sorrows” find peace; it’s a tender reminder that hope isn’t about denying pain, but about transcending it together. The final call to “strive” and keep the dream alive is the perfect, empowering conclusion. Thank you for this gift of hope and for reminding us that the city of our dreams is built not with bricks, but with our daily choices. 🙏✨

Your observation that hope is not the denial of pain but the courage to move beyond it together captures the very heart of what I hoped to express.

  4. A worthy dream and a continuing hope. Were that it could happen, but each person seems to be competing for their own gain, rather than society’s. Happy Tuesday. Allan

    • Thank you, Allan.
I understand your sentiment, and at times it can certainly seem that self-interest outweighs the common good. Yet I like to believe that hope remains worthwhile because there are still countless ordinary people performing quiet acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion every day. Perhaps lasting change begins not with grand gestures, but with individuals choosing to care for one another in small ways.

  5. What a beautiful vision of the world Verma ji🌸 As I read this, I couldn’t help but think that perhaps the city of our dreams isn’t a place we are waiting to find it’s a place we create every time we choose kindness over judgment, compassion over indifference, and love over fear.

Gentle, hopeful, and full of heart. Thank you for sharing this lovely dream with us.🤍✨

    • Thank you so much for your beautiful and insightful words. 🌸 Your observation touches the very soul of the poem. I wholeheartedly agree that the city of our dreams is not merely a destination waiting somewhere beyond the horizon—it is something we build, moment by moment, through our choices, our compassion, and our willingness to see one another with understanding and love.
