This poem shows the pain of a world full of hatred, hunger, and suffering. However, even in darkness, it carries a hopeful message, reminding us that compassion, courage, and unity can heal wounds and bring a better future.
Darkness fades when people choose love instead of fear and kindness instead of indifference.
# From Darkness to Light #
The wind carries ashes through the night,
While smoke conceals the fading light.
Hatred walks through every street,
Teaching young hearts fear and defeat.
Millions sleep with empty hands,
Dreaming of kinder, gentler lands.
Silent tears and broken dreams
Flow like forgotten, hidden streams.
How long will fear rule every soul?
How long will darkness take its toll?
Rise, and let your courage show—
Even the smallest flame can glow.
Light the candle deep inside,
Let faith and kindness be your guide.
For dawn will come, as dawns have done,
When God decides the night has gone.
Break the walls that hate has made,
Let wounds be healed and fears allayed.
Join your hands, let love increase,
And fill this weary world with peace.
Walk together, brave and strong,
Though the road is hard and long.
From sorrow’s ashes, hearts can rise
To paint a new dawn in the skies.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging words. I’m truly touched that the line “Light the candle deep inside” resonated with you. I believe that lasting change often begins quietly within us—in the choices we make, the compassion we offer, and the hope we refuse to surrender.
Your kindness and support mean a great deal to me. Thank you for reading so deeply and for always finding the light within the words.

I’m truly grateful that the poem resonated with you in this way. I completely agree—compassion, kindness, and responsibility toward one another should never be driven solely by self-interest. The choices we make ripple outward, touching lives we may never even know.

Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt words. 💛🤍
I am deeply touched that the poem resonated with you in this way. The image of even the smallest flame continuing to glow is one that brings me comfort as well.
In a world that often feels overwhelmed by pain, division, and uncertainty, it is easy to underestimate the quiet power of compassion, kindness, and hope. Yet history repeatedly reminds us that even the gentlest acts of courage can illuminate the darkest moments.

I am afraid that humanity has failed to learn from past mistakes and while there is hope, it is growing dimmer as propaganda dilutes knowledge. Education is the answer and not state sponsored education, which can be easily skewed. Instead of concentrating on our differences, we need to concentrate on our similarities and shared values. It is easier to move forward together. Have a great day. Allan

Thank you, Allan.
I understand your concern, and I share your belief that education—especially one that nurtures critical thinking, curiosity, and empathy—is essential. History offers valuable lessons, but they only matter if we are willing to learn from them.

Thank you so much, Sir, for your generous and encouraging words. 🙏
I am truly delighted that the poem resonated with you and that you found meaning in it. As writers, we often send our thoughts into the world with the hope that they may touch even one heart or inspire a moment of reflection. Knowing that it spoke to you in such a profound way is deeply rewarding.

Yes Sir, a most beautiful poem. And you have said it right, we write and send out our most crafted and inspired thoughts and when we receive word that it has touched a heart, a mind, an interest, we cannot be anything but grateful and thrilled. Have a happy, healthy and creative day.

Thank you so much, Sir.
You have expressed it beautifully. As writers, we send our thoughts into the world with a measure of hope and vulnerability, never quite knowing where they may land. When someone takes the time to say that our words have touched their heart, stirred a memory, or sparked a new thought, it feels like a quiet miracle.
It reminds us that writing is more than arranging words—it is an act of connection between souls who may never meet, yet understand one another through shared humanity.

Good Verma ji, thy verses speak of a world shadowed by grief, yet they kindle hope as a steadfast star in the darkest sky. Thou hast shown that where love, courage, and mercy abide, even the deepest night must yield to dawn. A noble and moving composition, worthy of thoughtful hearts. 🌹

I am deeply touched that you found hope shining through the sorrow woven into the verses. It was my humble intention to acknowledge the grief and unrest that often shadow our world, while also affirming my belief that love, courage, mercy, and compassion remain among humanity’s greatest strengths.

I’m delighted that you found the analogy both grand and simple. I believe the most meaningful ideas are often those expressed in the simplest ways, allowing them to touch hearts without complication. Your encouraging words mean a great deal to me and inspire me to keep writing and sharing.

A reflective and emotionally grounded interpretation of a poem that contrasts global suffering—such as hatred and hunger—with a hopeful message emphasizing compassion, courage, and unity as guiding forces toward healing and change. 🌍✨

This poem offers a poignant reflection on the contradictions of our world—where immense suffering and extraordinary compassion exist side by side. By acknowledging the painful realities of hatred, hunger, and human division, it refuses to turn away from the truth.
Yet, rather than surrendering to despair, it gently reminds us that hope is sustained through ordinary acts of courage, kindness, and solidarity

I was off WordPress for quite some time. When I came back, I straightaway looked for your post on my birthday. This beautiful poem is what I found. It almost reads like your birthday gift to me, Sir V. So, thank you for the present you didn’t even know you gave,
This year, I made a pivotal decision to finally study Judaism. This is a big deal for someone of the Christian faith like me. That’s why this verse in your poem resonated so hard:
Break the walls that hate has made,
Let wounds be healed and fears allayed.
Join your hands, let love increase,
And fill this weary world with peace.
Walk together, brave and strong,
Though the road is hard and long.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. Your words have genuinely touched my heart.
What a beautiful thought—that a poem written without knowing the occasion could arrive as a birthday gift exactly when it was needed. Perhaps that is one of the quiet miracles of poetry: once released into the world, it finds its own destination and reaches the hearts it was meant to touch.
