This poem reflects on life, gratitude, and renewal, showing how each day is a new “golden page” in our lives. It highlights that life is measured not by years, but by the meaningful moments we experience and appreciate.
Another Golden Page
This morning arrived quietly,
without trumpets,
without promises,
without telling me
how many mornings still remain.
Yet the sun found my window again,
and the old table stood waiting—
faithful as ever,
holding yesterday’s unfinished thoughts
like treasures it refused to forget.
For a while, I sat in silence,
listening to the small sounds of life—
a bird beyond the garden wall,
the whisper of leaves,
the gentle ticking of time
writing its invisible story.
And then I understood—
Life is not measured
by the years we collect,
but by the moments
that touch the soul and stay.
I feel this breath.
I see the sunrise.
I get the chance to begin again.
The pages behind me are filled
with mistakes and miracles,
losses and lessons,
dreams broken and dreams reborn.
Yet I would not tear out a single one,
for each page brought me here.
And today,
with grateful hands,
I turn another page
in my unfinished book of life.
Not knowing what comes next,
yet thankful for what is.
For as long as the lamp still glows,
as long as the heart still sings,
as long as love finds a home within me,
this day is enough.
And before night closes its gentle eyes,
I will write,
I will smile,
I will give thanks—
for today has become
another golden page.

Verma ji, this is absolutely exquisite.
You have woven the profound into the ordinary with such grace—the old table, the ticking clock, the whisper of leaves. The line “The pages behind me are filled with mistakes and miracles, losses and lessons, dreams broken and dreams reborn. Yet I would not tear out a single one” resonates so deeply. It takes a truly wise and gentle soul to embrace the full spectrum of life without regret.
Your words are not just poetry; they are a quiet meditation that reminds us all to pause and cherish the breath we are given. Thank you for turning this “golden page” and allowing us to read it. May your lamp always glow, your heart always sing, and your book of life remain beautifully unfinished.
With deep respect and gratitude,
Srikanth

Your words feel like a gentle continuation of the same silence I tried to place between those lines. 🌿✨
I’m truly grateful that you read the piece with such attentiveness and emotional openness. That particular line you mentioned was born from a very simple realization—that life rarely offers clean edits, only lived pages. And somewhere in accepting all of them, even the difficult ones, there is a quiet kind of peace that begins to settle in.

Very nice expressions, reflections and way of looking hopefully at life that is spent and being lived with full faith and resolve. Every expression and experience in life is meaningful, has a role in taking us forward and gracefully taking this book of life as far as we are destined to take.

That’s a deeply thoughtful way to see life.
There’s something quietly powerful in the idea that nothing we go through is wasted—every experience, whether light or heavy, becomes part of the story that shapes us and moves us forward.
Faith and resolve don’t remove the challenges, but they do change how we carry them. And in that shift, even ordinary moments start feeling meaningful, like small signposts on a longer journey we’re still learning to understand.

So true and expressed so precisely, the perfect word, the profound intention. And the philosophy of life that rules this beautiful poem is one that I can truly subscribe to.

That means a great deal to hear. 🌿
There’s something quietly special when someone doesn’t just agree with a thought, but feels aligned with the philosophy beneath it—that sense of shared understanding where the words stop being just text and start becoming a meeting point.

Thank you, Sir.😊
It’s interesting how often the simplest observations turn out to be the most universal ones—almost like we’re all circling the same truths from different angles.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful message.
I really appreciate the depth of your reflection. I agree—life is never a straight or easy path, and it is shaped far more by lived moments than by the number of years we accumulate. The pages filled with loss, mistakes, healing, and renewal are not something to erase, but something that quietly shape who we become.

What a beautiful reflection. 🌅📖✨
The image of each new day as a “golden page” is both comforting and inspiring, reminding us that life continually offers opportunities to begin again—with gratitude in our hearts and hope in our hands. I especially appreciate the idea that a meaningful life is not measured by achievements alone, but by our capacity to cherish simple moments, learn from our experiences, and grow through both joy and hardship.

It is better to concentrate on the many small moments that went right in our day, rather than the few that did not go our way. Sometimes our setbacks allow for bigger successes and we can’t see this at the time. So, yes, gratitude is the attitude. Happy Thursday. Allan

Beautifully said, Allan. I really resonate with your perspective—life often moves so fast that we overlook the quiet wins of each day. Shifting our attention toward gratitude not only softens the weight of setbacks but also helps us see how even challenges are shaping something better ahead.
