This poem explores the quiet battle between the two sides that exist within every human being. One soul carries hope, kindness, and innocence, while the other bears the weight of pain, disappointment, and life’s hard lessons.
Rather than enemies, these two souls become companions on the journey of life, shaping our choices, resilience, and growth.
The poem reminds us that our strength comes not from denying our inner conflicts, but from learning to live with them and finding wisdom in both light and shadow.
Two Souls Within
I carry two souls within my skin,
One seeks the light, one walks in shade.
One is gentle, kind, and true,
One bears scars life slowly made.
One still dreams with open eyes,
One has learned to hide the pain.
One finds joy in simple things,
One remembers every stain.
Sometimes I smile to lift one up,
While the other softly weeps.
Sometimes I speak with fearless hope,
While the other silence keeps.
I’ve left the honeyed paths behind,
And tasted life’s most bitter wine.
Yet both souls walk this road with me,
Through every storm and every shine.
And when I look deep within,
Past all the masks I’ve worn and worn,
I find these two souls side by side—
Both wounded, wise, and still reborn.
