Hello dear friends,
I hope this blog finds you in high spirits and good health. Today’s post is a special one for me, and I want to share my feelings straight from the heart. Please stay with me till the end.
As many of you know, I’m a sports lover, and among all games, Table Tennis holds a special place in my heart.
Yesterday was another exciting day for our TT group — but this time, the occasion was truly special. We gathered to celebrate the birthday of one of our fellow TT players, Richa Singh.
An idea struck us — why not make this birthday unforgettable by organizing a TT tournament in her honour? And that’s exactly what we did.
With barely 24 hours to plan, we rolled up our sleeves, coordinated schedules, and announced that the tournament would be held yesterday evening. A celebration of one of my all-time favourite sports was about to unfold in the most memorable way.
The Magic of Table Tennis
Table Tennis, or TT as we fondly call it, is more than just a sport. It’s a bridge between ages, genders, skills, and even languages.
Whether played casually for fun or fiercely in competition, TT has an unmatched charm — the way the ball dances across the table, the lightning-fast reflexes, the blend of strategy and speed, and above all, the shared laughter after a great rally.
My love story with TT began in school. I still remember holding a paddle for the first time during our annual sports day. The crisp tick-tack of the ball, the thrill of scoring a point — it was love at first serve.
Later, in my college hostel, I was thrilled to discover a TT table in the common room. I spent countless evenings there — sometimes winning, sometimes learning, but always enjoying the game. TT wasn’t just a hobby; it became a teacher of discipline, patience, and perseverance.

Lessons Beyond the Game
After my retirement, I returned to TT with renewed passion, participating in local competitions and community matches. It was here that I truly understood the essence of the sport.
- Every rally is a test of focus.
Every serve demands precision.
Every point is a product of both strategy and mental agility.
The game keeps you physically agile, but it’s also a powerful mental workout. It sharpens reflexes, improves concentration, and enhances decision-making.
Over time, I’ve found these benefits spilling over into other areas of my life — whether writing a blog, creating art, or handling daily challenges, my TT training has been my secret strength.
Planning the Tournament
Organizing this tournament in less than a day was no small feat. The biggest challenge was aligning the schedules of all players — some were school-going children, others were office-goers, and everyone had different commitments.
But when there is passion in the heart, sab mumkin hai!
With determination and teamwork, we finalized the date — yesterday — and made it happen.
I owe a big thank you to my friends Rakesh Chaudhary, Avinash Kishan, and Noddy whose hard work and dedication ensured everything came together beautifully.
The Birth of Teams
We formed four vibrant teams, each with its own unique spirit:

- Grey: Avinash, Darshan, Vishnu, Preet, Akash
- Yellow: Rakesh, Reyansh, Vaibhav, Deepak, Atharv
- Red: Vijay (me), Divyansh, Rishi, Saket, Divyansh D.
- Blue: Noddy, Mudit, Sidharth, Richa, Badri
Our group was a delightful mix — from a 14-year-old prodigy to a 66-year-old enthusiast (yes, that’s me!). Our motto for the day was simple: Focus, Finesse, and Friendship.
The Grand Celebration
At 7:00 PM, the clubhouse was alive with excitement. Viewers packed the room, cheering squads were ready, and the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation.
Before the matches began, we gathered for a lively cake-cutting ceremony for Richa Singh. The energy was electric — laughter, applause, and heartfelt wishes filled the air. After enjoying a delicious cake and snacks, it was time for the real action to begin.
The matches were intense yet filled with good humour. Every rally had the audience leaning forward in their seats. Players of all ages showcased their best, and the sportsmanship on display was inspiring.
My Red Team fought with all our heart, winning crucial matches and building momentum. We reached the finals, but after a nail-biting game, we narrowly missed the championship.
The victory went to the Yellow Team, and we congratulated them wholeheartedly. After all, in sports, you either win or you learn.

More Than a Tournament
This wasn’t just about TT. It was about community, joy, and the unifying power of sport. Even though it was a mini-tournament organized on short notice, it had a lasting impact.
That once-overlooked TT table in our clubhouse is now a symbol of enthusiasm and friendship. Players who hadn’t picked up a paddle in months are now regulars. Practice sessions are becoming part of our routine. The bonds we strengthened that evening will last far beyond the final score.
Looking Ahead
For me, this event was more than just a game. It was a reminder that passion knows no age limit. It was about rediscovering joy, embracing challenges, and living fully in the moment.
As I reflect, I’m filled with gratitude — for the sport, for my friends, and for the shared spirit that made this celebration so special.
So, my dear friends, if you ever come across a forgotten hobby, a dusty sports table, or a passion you once loved — give it another shot. You might just find yourself on an unforgettable adventure, surrounded by laughter, friendship, and the thrill of doing what you love.
Because sometimes, the best celebrations are the ones that combine joy, people, and a little friendly competition. 🏓🎂✨
