The Poem explores the idea that chasing success can lead to loneliness. It shows how achievements can be cold compared to the warmth of compassion and human connection.
It reminds us that real happiness comes not from power, but from the honest relationships we build with others.
“Where Winds Forget to Sing”
At the peak, where winds forget to sing,
And stars don’t blink, nor memories cling,
What use is height, if hearts don’t hear
The cry of pain, and the silent tear?
You chased the gleam of hollow fame,
Wore masks of pride, played power’s game.
But lost the child who once believed
In truth, in love, in dreams conceived.
You ran through echoes, void and vast,
Each footstep fading from the past.
Yet when alone, your soul confides—
The mirror cracks where ego hides.
Oh wanderer, pause and feel the ground,
Where roots of kindness still are found.
Not in thrones, nor within granite walls,
But in a friend’s voice when darkness calls.
The summit is cold, the air is thin—
It robs the warmth you held within.
Come down where hands in union rise,
Where hearts still dance beneath the skies.

This poem beautifully captures the hollowness of ambition without connection. Its imagery—cold summits, fading footsteps, cracking mirrors—vividly contrasts with the warmth of shared humanity in its closing lines. A poignant reminder that true fulfillment lies not in isolation at the top, but in the “roots of kindness” and the “hands in union” below. The rhythm and refrain-like structure give it a lyrical, almost haunting quality. Wonderful poem Verma ji ! Thanks for sharing 🤝

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt reflection.
I’m truly touched by your words. It means a lot to know that the poem resonated with you so deeply.
Indeed, in a world that often glorifies personal triumph, we sometimes forget the quiet beauty of connection and compassion.
I’m grateful you felt the essence I tried to convey. Your encouragement keeps me inspired to keep writing and sharing. 🤝✨

It’s funny how these things work. Those who become millionaires often have many supporters but don’t know who their true friends are and can be the loneliest people. Me it’s the complete opposite. I have almost no money, few supporters, but I know the friends I keep truly love me for me, i feel fulfilled and at peace, and not wanting either.
thank you for inspiring these thoughts. God Bless, Elaine.

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection.
You’re absolutely right—true wealth lies in authentic connections, not in numbers or possessions.
It’s a blessing to be surrounded by love that isn’t measured by gain but by genuine presence.
Your words beautifully echo the spirit of the poem, and I’m grateful it sparked such meaningful thoughts.
May your heart always remain full, and your journey continue in peace and grace. God bless you too. 🌿✨
