# Memories of a Distant Yesterday #

This is a reflective poem about love, memory, and self in life’s quiet moments. With vivid imagery, I want to convey a timeless connection to people, places, and past dreams.

Yes, It celebrates aging gracefully, cherishing memories, and finding beauty in solitude.

Memories of a Distant Yesterday

In the hush of dawn, I sip on time,
A quiet world, where dreams still climb.
Footsteps echo from forgotten days,
Where laughter lived in golden rays.

My heart, once fierce with youthful fire,
Now glows with softer, deeper desire.
I walk alone, yet never apart —
For memories linger within my heart.

Your smile returns in a passing breeze,
A fleeting touch that puts me at ease.
The roads I travel, I know your name,
Moments shift, but my soul’s the same.

I paint with colors I cannot speak,
And write in silence — strong yet meek.
The stars above, they know my truth:
That age is kind when filled with youth.

So let the world keep rushing by,
I’ll stay beneath the tender sky —
Where love once bloomed, and still it stays,
A life’s sweet song that won’t fade away.

  1. This is a beautifully reflective and tender poem that captures the quiet grace of aging and the enduring warmth of cherished memories. The imagery is vivid yet gentle—golden rays, passing breezes, tender skies—all evoking a sense of timeless connection. The speaker’s acceptance of solitude, paired with the comfort of lingering love, creates a poignant balance between nostalgia and peace. The closing lines, *”A life’s sweet song that won’t fade away,”* resonate deeply, celebrating how love and memory outlast the passage of time. A heartfelt and serene piece Verma ji 🌷🤝
