# 43 Years of Togetherness #

“Life is short. Don’t miss a day.”

Today isn’t just another date circled on the calendar. It’s a milestone—a living, breathing tapestry woven from 43 years of laughter, trials, rituals, and resilience.

Today, my wife and I celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. And what a journey it has been!

Last night, our home was alive with the sounds of family, laughter, and love. We hosted a grand pre-anniversary dinner—yes, “pre” anniversary! Why, you ask?

Because today, I’m on a train to Kolkata. Life, as always, has its own rhythm, and sometimes you have to dance to its unpredictable beat. So, we tweaked tradition and celebrated a day early. Who says love needs to follow a timetable?

Before a day we boarded our train, we made our way to the revered Kali Mandir in Patna. The powerful evening aarti bathed us in a sacred glow, reminding me of the divine strength we’ve leaned on all these years.

Traditionally, I visit Kalighat in Kolkata on such occasions to seek Mother Kali’s blessings, but for the past three years, circumstances have kept me away.

Yet, faith knows no boundaries. In that moment, geography faded away, and my devotion stood as firm as ever.

I whispered silent thanks—for love, family, health, and the grace that has kept us together through every season.

This morning, my wife suggested we visit the Sai Baba Temple. Our morning walk transformed into a spiritual stroll, ending with prasada in hand and peace in our hearts.

It’s these simple rituals—shared prayers, gentle smiles—that make every day feel sacred.

Shortly after, my phone buzzed with calls from family members, their voices carrying warmth across the miles.

“Happy Anniversary!”

“Thank you, dear. I miss you all so much.”

Moments like these are the true celebration—reminders that love stretches across distance, unbroken and undiminished.

Forty-three years of marriage is no small feat. We’ve weathered storms and basked in sunlight, laughed over small victories, and clung to each other through losses.

We’ve raised a beautiful family, built a home brimming with memories, and—most importantly—never let go of each other’s hand.

I often joke about how astonishing it is that we’ve “tolerated” each other for so long. But beneath that humor lies a deep well of respect, compassion, and shared purpose.

My wife is my constant, my peace, my poetry. Our love has matured like vintage wine—stronger, richer, and more soulful with every passing year.

And though tonight I’ll be celebrating on a moving train, don’t worry—we’ve packed a small cake to mark the moment. Because love doesn’t wait for perfect timing; it travels with you, wherever you go.

As I reflect on this day, one truth shines bright:
We shouldn’t wait for birthdays, anniversaries, or festivals to celebrate life.
Every day is a gift—a fresh page in the story we’re writing together.

I may not have a glittering gift to offer today, but I have something far more precious—a lifetime of love, companionship, and unwavering gratitude.

To My Beloved wife

Happy Anniversary, my dear

You are the gentle rhythm in my chaotic days,
the laughter in our shared silences,
and the soul of this journey we call life.

Here’s to the chapters we’ve written,
and those we’ve yet to live.
Let’s keep walking hand-in-hand—
with gratitude in our hearts and love in our steps.

Life is short. Don’t miss a day.
Celebrate love, celebrate togetherness, and cherish every moment—rain or shine, ritual or routine, resilience or revelry.

With love and memories,
Vijay
