Dear friends,

In quiet moments, a chance meeting with a stranger can affect us in surprising ways. This poem was inspired by a conversation over tea with an elderly man who taught me that life shouldn’t be hurried.

His words, like steam from a warm cup, touched my heart and revealed a simple truth: we are all slowly becoming who we are meant to be.

🍃 We Steep Slow 🍃

In the hush of dawn where silence speaks,
Mist hugs the hills, and the valley weeps.
Each breath a whisper, each step a prayer,
In nature’s soothing arms, we shed our care.

A stranger sat with a smile, old eyes aglow,
With stories untold, and heartbeats slow.
A tune on his lips, a cup in his hand,
The wisdom of years, like grains of sand.

“Life,” he said, “is a patient brew,
With bitter sips and sweetness, too.
Hearts may shatter, fall like rain,
But rise again — softer from pain.”

“Don’t rush the heat, don’t fear the fire,
Let your scars turn into quiet desire.
Like leaves in tea, we dance and steep,
In silence deep, our roots run deep.”

The breeze listened, the mountains heard,
As if the wind cradled every word.
A stranger, yes — but somehow known,
His presence warmed me to the bone.

Now every time the morning sighs,
And clouds drift slow across the skies,
I think of him, that gentle soul,
Who healed me with his humble role.

And in my cup of tea, I see the truth:
Time stirs us all, from age to youth.
Let every loss and joy bestow —
Like tea, dear friend… we steep slow.
