Between My Fear and Hope

I am racing across a thread of fear,
A fragile line stretched thin and sheer.
The winds of doubt howl in my ear,
Whispering tales I don’t wish to hear.

My thoughts before me, silent and deep,
A fading light where shadows creep.
Nothingness hums a hollow tune,
Like a ghostly sigh beneath the moon.

Yet within my chest, a memoir pleads,
To leave behind these aching needs.
I try to carve my name in stone,
To leave behind a mark, my own.

But pity lingers in my cracking bones,
A silent guest that calls me home.
I beg myself to feel the light,
To see beyond this endless night.

The window of my eye swings wide,
The world outside, unmasked, untied.
No tinted glass to shade the hues,
Just naked truths and honest blues.

My heart beats loud within its cage,
Trapped in walls that echo rage.
Invisible bars, unseen chains,
Holding back my joys and pains.

Yet when my pen, in trembling flight,
Dances across the page at night,
My soul unravels, raw and free,
Weaving words from inside of me.

Through ink of fear, and hope,
I find a way, I learn to cope.
For even shadows hold a song,
through my verse, I still belong.
