# A Knock at My Soul #

This poem captures the desire for a love that seems both close and out of reach. The speaker’s feelings are mixed with brief memories, unanswered questions, and a longing for a mysterious person who has impacted their life.

It looks at the connection between memory, desire, and the bittersweet nature of unfulfilled love.

A Knock at My Soul

Who knocked at my heart’s door, with melody sweet?
A stranger, so innocent, with her smile so discreet.
My eyes search to know; my heart fails to comprehend,
A blurry image is seen—how can I possibly apprehend?

A fleeting vision, a whisper on the breeze,
A memory lost in the rustling of the trees.
My heart, a canvas painted with shades of gray,
Yearns for the touch of a love that slipped away.

When I recall her beautiful image, it fades away.
Moments excite me deeply; my soul begins to sway.
I feel her presence in every sound, and every street,
But her soft image disappears, leaving me incomplete.

In dreams, I wander, hoping for a fleeting glance.
My soul finds hope, longing for a second chance.
Sometimes, find so near; sometimes, a shadow passing by,
No answer for a restless heart—who sang this, and why?

Who knocked at heart’s door, with anklets chiming sweet?
Entered quietly into my soul, bringing love so rare, so deep.
