# Your Flickering Memories #

This poem explores the deep feelings of longing and loneliness when a loved one is absent. Images of flickering lamps, lonely islands, and fragile dreams show the bittersweet nature of hope amid heartbreak.
It captures the strong emotions of waiting for someone who is still felt within the soul, even when they are gone.

Flickers of You

In a darkened room, a lamp flickers low,
My heart’s ocean rises, with tides aglow.
Dreams lie scattered, fragile, and torn,
In each breath, your absence is mourned.

I am an island, adrift and still,
Where waves of silence whisper their will.
Storms have carved me, shaped and worn,
Yet, for your return, my soul is sworn.

A strange solitude cloaks my heart,
A shadowed abyss, tearing me apart.
Your voice, a melody, stirs my soul,
Yet your silence leaves an unhealed hole.

I’ve lost my all in the echo of you,
Drowning in memories, forever true.
A faint ray of hope flickers and gleams,
Somewhere, you too, carry these dreams.

  1. We can drown in memories if we don’t keep our feet in the present. Great poem.

    • “Thank you for your thoughtful words!
You’re absolutely right—memories can be like deep waters, beautiful yet overwhelming. Staying anchored in the present helps us cherish the past without losing ourselves. I’m so glad the poem resonated with you!” 😊
