The Tale of the Cursed Lamp
Once upon a time, a poor couple visited a renowned sage known for his wisdom. During their visit, they noticed a golden lamp lying amidst a heap of trash.
Curious, they inquired about it. The sage warned them, “This lamp grants three wishes, but it is cursed and dangerous. Many who took it returned to discard it here in despair.”
Despite the warning, the couple’s desperation overpowered their caution, and they carried the lamp home.
Eager to test its powers, they decided to wish for ten lakh rupees to alleviate their poverty.
No sooner had they made the wish than there was a knock on the door. A man stood there, handing them a bag full of cash and an envelope.
Overwhelmed with joy, they opened the envelope, but their happiness quickly turned into horror. The letter inside read:
“I deeply regret to inform you that your son was killed in an accident caused by my car. Enclosed is ten lakh rupees as compensation. Please forgive me.”

The mother broke into heart-wrenching sobs while the father stood paralyzed with grief.
Overcome with anguish, the father quickly decided to use the second wish to bring their son back to life.
Moments later, their house filled with eerie noises. The lights flickered violently, and shadows danced across the walls.
Trembling, they opened the door to see their son standing there, but he was no longer the lively boy they remembered. He had returned as a terrifying spirit.
Terrified and regretful, the couple realized the gravity of their mistake.
In a panic, they used their final wish to release their son’s soul and grant him peace.

With heavy hearts, they spent a sleepless night before rushing back to the sage’s ashram. They threw the cursed lamp back into the trash and returned home, burdened by sorrow but wiser than before.
The Moral of the Story:
This tale mirrors the human tendency to chase endless desires. Each fulfilled wish often gives rise to another, leaving us perpetually dissatisfied.
The couple’s tragedy reminds us of the dangers of greed and impulsive decisions.
True happiness lies not in fulfilling endless desires but in finding contentment with what we already have.
Just as the couple learned to value peace over fleeting gains, we too must appreciate the blessings we possess and approach life with gratitude.

Yes, friends, we often dream of shortcuts to happiness and success, but such paths can be fraught with unforeseen consequences.
Instead, embracing patience, faith, and humility leads to a more fulfilling and peaceful life.
Remember, the lamp may grant wishes, but it cannot undo the price of hasty and thoughtless desires.
A Twist in Perspective:
After discarding the lamp, the couple spent years reflecting on their choices. They turned their sorrow into a mission to help others appreciate the value of gratitude.
With time, they became symbols of hope and wisdom, teaching villagers to live with contentment rather than longing for shortcuts to happiness.
Their story traveled far and wide, and people began to cherish what they already had instead of yearning for more.
And so, the cursed lamp remained buried in the trash, a silent reminder of the perils of greed and the beauty of a grateful
