#Beyond the Wrinkles #

Weary Bones, Weary Soul

This poem explores the emotional depths of aging and weariness. It delves into the physical and mental exhaustion that can settle in over time, leaving one feeling world-weary and lost.

Yet, amidst the despair, a flicker of hope emerges. The speaker recognizes the world’s brokenness mirroring their own, but yearns for a renewed sense of trust and support

Beyond the Wrinkles

The mirror shows a stranger’s face,

Etched deep with lines, a shadowed maze.

My tired eyes reflect the ache,

Not just in skin, but for life’s sake.

This weary weight goes far within,

A bone-deep ache, a mournful din.

My soul, once bright, now dimmed and worn,

Drags through each day, so tattered, torn.

Why does this world feel ever cold?

Each step is a burden, a story untold.

“What’s wrong with me?” the question sighs,

Lost in the depths of tired eyes.

A promise made, a whispered vow,

Like water seeping, thoughts slip out.

The mind, once sharp, now struggles free,

Not broken, but reflecting what I see.

The world I walk, it carries many scars,

Cracks in the pavement, reaching for stars.

I tiptoe, fearing the endless fall,

No strength remains to catch me at all.

My bones are weary, my spirit frayed,

But mending isn’t what’s needed, I’ve prayed.

To trust, to surrender, to simply believe,

That you, unseen, can help me retrieve

The strength to walk, to face the day,

To see the cracks, and find my way.

One day, on pavement, smooth and whole,

Hope, My tired heart will find its goal.
