Veerendra Kumar, at the heart of Khaira village, is no ordinary man. His life unfolds like an enchanting story, filled with unique twists and turns that astonish those who encounter its details.

Jhameli Baba, as he is fondly called, is a contemporary enigma, offering not just a personal example but serving as a beacon for the entire village. As we delve into his story, vibrant images of Khaira village come to life, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already intriguing narrative.

Since September 7, 1992, Jhameli Baba, residing in the village of Khaira in Darbhanga, has embraced a life without consuming grains. He made a vow to observe a fruit-only diet until the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is completed.

Despite his decision, he remains shrouded in anonymity, currently running a small paan shop and refraining from marrying.

Jhameli Baba shared that he had been a volunteer since childhood, and he joined 250 others from the VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad) to participate in the kar seva (voluntary work) for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Upon reaching Ayodhya, he, along with the VHP president Mahadev Prasad and other officials, managed to enter Babri Masjid.

After bringing down the structure, Jhameli Baba described how he raised an iron pipe from the mosque’s exterior and gathered people to topple it. Amidst the crowd were hundreds of Shiv Sena activists.

A Tale of Unwavering Faith and Sacrifice

As the dome fell, the mosque crumbled, leading to the congregation of Jhameli Baba and his companions for a ceremonial dip in the Sarayu River. They also took photographs in a nearby studio, which were later received via mail.

On December 8, 1992, Jhameli Baba and his associates returned to Darbhanga, despite police teams actively searching for them. They reached the Balbhadrapur Sangh office by traveling on foot along railway tracks.

Subsequently, Jhameli Baba handed over his entire property to his brother and started running a pan shop. He expressed that his dream was coming true, and he is now ready to resume consuming grains. Additionally, he received an invitation to attend the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.

Jhameli Baba’s unique journey, marked by a vow of abstinence and active participation in the Ayodhya movement, showcases his dedication to the cause. His decision to partake in the Ram Mandir celebration reflects the culmination of his sacrifice and devotion, creating a tale that resonates with the spirit of determination and faith.
