Life is very Tough if you do not Laugh
In our senior years, we can sometimes feel easily upset by even the smallest things. This might be because we haven’t developed the ability to handle difficult situations in the present.
It is important to understand that in a world full of challenges and uncertainties, developing mental toughness is crucial. It can contribute to personal growth, professional success, and a stronger mindset. Understanding the science behind mental toughness can make a big difference.
In this blog, we will discuss mental toughness and how it can help us deal with life’s challenges. We will explore the latest research and facts on this topic.
Here are some ways that can help us boost our mental toughness and handle anything life throws at us. Remember, mental toughness is a skill that can be developed over time with practice and perseverance.

Only Focus On What’s Next
Recent neuroscience studies have found interesting insights on how the brain deals with stress and challenges. It’s easy to get caught up worrying about the future, like the effects of global warming or the future of social security.
However, it’s important to focus on the present moment, as that is what truly deserves our attention. In fact, constantly worrying about the future that hasn’t arrived yet can weaken our mental resilience.
Don’t Let the Past Linger
Another reason we struggle with our mental state is that we often focus on past mistakes. Instead of feeling better, this only makes us feel worse.
It’s important to accept that the past is behind us and choose to look ahead.
Focus on the Positive
In addition to moving on from the past, we also need to release the negative things happening in our life right now.
Instead of letting every little thing that goes wrong bother us, it’s much better to take a deep breath, let go of the negativity, and focus on the positive aspects instead.

Those who don’t look forward, Stay Behind.
Have a mindful Routine
Having a mindful routine for the entire day can greatly contribute to our mental toughness, especially when it comes to how we start our day. Starting the day off right sets the tone for the rest of the day.
So, let’s make it a priority to wake up early, exercise before work, and have a healthy breakfast. This small routine can have a big impact on the rest of our day.

Visualize Your Future Self
Life can be tough at times, and it’s important to acknowledge that. Instead of focusing on the present difficulties, we should try to imagine where we want to be in the future.
By visualizing a positive outcome, we can strengthen our mental resilience and face challenges with a determined mindset. One way to do this is by picturing ourselves in the place we want to be five years from now. This simple exercise can help us stay motivated and overcome obstacles along the way.

In the end, You have to fight your own Battle
Spend Time With Mentally Tough People
We are influenced by the people we are closest to in life. To become mentally tough, we should spend time with mentally tough people. They can teach us their ways and we can learn from them.
Have Positive Affirmations
Positive affirmations are important for mental toughness. They can help us overcome times of weakness and improve our outlook. Whispering positive affirmations to ourselves is helpful for mental toughness.

Walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind
Developing the ability to remain calm is essential for everyone. Panicking is the opposite of having mental strength, regardless of the situation you’re dealing with. The best way to acquire this skill is to practice it regularly, even before you face a crisis.
It’s important to establish a mental routine that you can rely on when unexpected challenges arise. This routine can include techniques like deep breathing, positive affirmations, or taking a moment of quiet reflection before taking action.
Consume Mentally Tough Literature
Yes, another good way to develop mental toughness is by reading books about mentally strong individuals. These books can inspire and remind us that we can overcome any situation.
It is important to eliminate media that can weaken our mentality. This may involve deleting social media accounts or removing certain media influences from our lives.

Exercise Daily
Exercise is an effective way to develop mental toughness. Our physical and mental states are closely connected, so working on our physical strength can also enhance our mental toughness.
By engaging in regular exercise and challenging ourselves, we can transform into a stronger version of ourselves. This natural connection between our physical body and mental resilience is truly remarkable.
As we get older, it’s important to have a strong mindset to cope with life’s challenges. To develop mental toughness, focus on the present and let go of the past. Surround yourself with positive people, stay calm, and read inspiring books.
Don’t forget to exercise regularly, as it will give you strength and resilience. By doing these things, you can ensure your senior years are filled with joy and a positive outlook on life.

I thank you very much Sir. I feel the same way about poetry. For me everything in art has much to do with poetry and should have the unique rhythm, flow, insightfulness and spirituality of a poem. I consider myself a poet that puts words into images and visual composition. Have a great evening Sir and a peaceful night. All the best.

Painting is a great way to spend the day. It is creative, artistic, meditation and also relaxation. They talk about “Art Therapy” but I say that “art” is “therapy” in itself. I will paint today as well, so we will both enjoy a phenomenal day! All the best!

Thank you so much Sir. Yes, a painting acquires a life of its own and it’s not over until it tells you and as an artist one must learn to listen…

Yes Sir, absolutely right 🎨👂
Each brushstroke and color palette is a language of its own, and as an artist,
the process unfolds like a conversation with the canvas.
It’s a beautiful dance where the painting whispers its story, and the artist listens intently.
Thank you for sharing such profound insights. Happy creating! 🖌️✨

Good afternoon to you and thank you so much Sir. Yes, each step forward is a lesson and we should do as Gandhi said, “live like you would die tomorrow and learn as if you would live forever.” Wishing you the same, a grand day with art, friends and most importantly, loved ones. All the best to you.

I like the content, I’ve been writing and researching a lot on one of the topics specifically that you touched on “Another reason we struggle with our mental state is that we often focus on past mistakes. Instead of feeling better, this only makes us feel worse.” Especially being a professional athlete, almost forces us to let the past be and focus on the next moment, otherwise we’ll end up in a bad circle quickly and find ourselves on the bench or in worst cases kicked out of the team. Thanks for a great post!

You’re very welcome.
I’m thrilled to hear that the post resonated with you, especially considering your perspective as a professional athlete.
It’s indeed fascinating how the principles of focusing on the next moment and leaving the past behind apply not only
to sports but also to various aspects of life. Your commitment to this mindset in your athletic career is truly commendable.
If there’s ever a specific topic or aspect you’d like more insights on, feel free to share, and I’d be happy to explore it further.
Wishing you continued success both on and off the field!
