# Retired Kalam: My Journey of Words, Memories, and Friendships

Memories are timeless treasures of the Heart

Today, as I sit with a cup of tea in one hand and a pen in the other, my mind wanders back to the day when I embarked on a journey that would forever change my perspective on life.

The unexpected turn of events, the evolution of my passions, and the friendships forged along the way.

Yes,  it’s a story I feel compelled to share. It’s a story about “Retired Kalam.”

Three years ago, I knew little about blogging. My life had been intricately intertwined with the world of banking, and the idea of life post-retirement was both exhilarating and daunting.

The prospect of idle days in an empty mind did little to lift my spirits, and I was in search of a solution.

It was a friend who came to my rescue, suggesting that I should embrace social media through blogging. This, he said, would not only occupy my time but also allow me to channel my thoughts and experiences creatively.

The thought stuck with me, and after five months of contemplation, I finally decided to take the plunge.

A Journey of Words, Memories, and Friendships

With a pounding heart and an unfamiliar sense of trepidation, I started my blog. I named it “Retired Kalam.” After all, I was a retired banker, and my pen would be my medium to reach out to the world.

The concept was born, and my journey as a blogger began.

As I gazed at the present state of my blog, I couldn’t help but leap with joy. Over these three years, my modest efforts have resulted in 2,945 blog posts.

What’s more, these writings have garnered over 4.05 lakh views, and I’ve been blessed with more than 1.7 thousand followers. And most exciting to see that I have posted 912 days in a row and hope to make it a thousand.

For someone like me, who was a novice in this field, this is a testament to the power of persistence and the support of wonderful friends like you.

It’s true that before my retirement, I knew little about the world of blogging.

My life revolved around banking, and the notion of writing for an audience seemed light-years away. But retirement, as someone said, is a time for rediscovery.

It was the gift of free time that provided me with the opportunity to seek new horizons and breathe life into my long-dormant passion for writing.

As I continue to explore various themes in my blog, from short stories to cherished memories, each narrative breathes life into this digital space.

‘Retired Kalam’ is not just a collection of words; it’s a testament to the boundless potential of the human spirit, a testament to the unceasing journey of growth, learning, and camaraderie.

The most heartwarming aspect of this journey has been the friendships that I’ve made. Each of you, my readers and fellow bloggers, has been a guiding light. Your comments, feedback, and shared experiences have been invaluable.

It’s through this platform that I’ve realized the true potential of sharing one’s life experiences. I’ve seen the impact of personal stories on readers, the resonance it creates, and the solace it offers.

Yes, I consider myself fortunate to have supportive friends who have stood by me at every step of this journey.

While I may have started this endeavor with uncertainty, the power of storytelling and the connections it has fostered have given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Friends, I welcome your thoughts on my blog’s name, “Retired Kalam,” and any suggestions for a more fitting or relevant title.

After all, my journey has been one of self-discovery and reconnection with the world, and I couldn’t have done it without your companionship.

Thank you, dear friends, for being a part of this incredible adventure. It’s a reminder that life after retirement can be as vibrant and meaningful as one dares to make it.

And it’s a testament to the power of words, memories, and the camaraderie that emerges from sharing our stories.

BE HAPPY….BE ACTIVE….BE FOCUSED….BE ALIVE…
