Dear Senior Citizens,
As we age, it’s important to recognize our value and the contributions we make to our communities. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we are active and engaged in our communities.
We are an essential part of building more inclusive and supportive communities that benefit people of all ages.

Privilege to grow older
It’s a privilege to grow older, and we should not regret it. In fact, we should celebrate it. Did you know that the population of adults aged 65 and older in the United States is expected to double by the year 2060?
We are a growing demographic, and our unique genetic signature allows some of us to live longer.

Positive outlook on life
Many of us continue to work well into our 60s, 70s, and even beyond. We are a powerful political force, with a higher likelihood of voting in elections than any other age group.
And we are more likely to have a positive outlook on life, with 41% of people aged 65 and older saying they are very happy.

Engage in charitable activity
Not only are we active and engaged members of society, but we are also more likely to engage in charitable giving than any other age group. We are homeowners, with 78% of people aged 65 and older owning their own homes.
Feeling of Isolation
However, with the increasing number of senior citizens living alone, it’s important to recognize the need for supportive communities. We must work together to build networks of support, so that no one feels isolated or alone.

Amazing facts about Senior Citizens
- Many senior citizens continue to work well into their 60s, 70s, and beyond. In fact, a study by the Urban Institute found that nearly 9 million Americans over the age of 65 were employed in 2016.
- Japan has the oldest population in the world, with more than one in four people aged 65 or older. This highlights the importance of valuing and supporting our seniors as a vital part of society.
- Senior citizens are more likely to have a positive outlook on life than younger people. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 41% of people aged 65 and older say they are very happy, compared to just 18% of people aged 18-29.

So, let’s celebrate our value and contributions as senior citizens. We have much to offer, and our experiences and knowledge can benefit people of all ages.
Let’s continue to be active and engaged members of society, and work towards building more inclusive and supportive communities for all.
Remember, growing older is a privilege, denied to many. Let’s make the most of it.

BE HAPPY….BE ACTIVE….BE FOCUSED….BE ALIVE…
