I Love my Sketches

Your presence is a gift

Friends,

If you wish to live your life to its fullest potential and do something meaningful and impactful in the world.

Ensure that you do not allow your mind to harbor hatred toward anyone. These thoughts of bitterness devastate your body and poison your mind. The best way to get rid of that is to be focused on the hobby you like most.

I feel lucky that I have developed my hobby of drawing and painting. My drawing and painting keep me enjoying my retired life in a better way.

As I made a resolution to draw 1100 sketches in this new year, here are sketches that made by me on the first day of this new year 2023. My journey in art and drawing went smoothly till now and I hope will continue with new zeal and enthusiasm.

Doesn’t matter if you can dream it or not, all that matters is if you can begin it or not?  It is important to take that first step.”

Every moment is filled with Joy.

Here, this sketch depicted a man smiling despite many problems in his life. He is retired, and facing ups and down in his life. Happiness depends upon ourselves.

Friends, drawing is the most creative field and I love creativity.

I have my favorite tool in my hand without which drawing is impossible. Yes, in between writing this paragraph, I am holding — a pencil.  A good graphite pencil is my favorite for my drawing.

On the first day of the new year, I made some sketches just now in a hurry and sharing them with you all. I know it is not up to mark, but I always feel happy whenever I draw anything in my sketchbook. I am expecting your feelings on the matter, please share…. Ha ha ha..

Everything has its Beauty.

I love this hobby because this is very helpful to keep my mind cool and happy.

I know my sketches are not quality Artwork, because I am just in the way of the learning process. I am a lover of Art, and a student of Art as well.

Art of being Happy.

My drawing is art therapy for me.

There are several occasions come through when I feel low and anxious. I am adopting a simple technique and that is to occupy my seat with the drawing session.

Yes, this Art therapy helps me to get relief from anxiety and stress moments.

I am now habitual of drowning myself in the world of drawing and painting,  which helps me tune into and express my painful feelings.

I am thrilled that you are following my blogs and encouraging me through your words. I am thankful to you all from the core of my heart.

Friends, drawing boosts our physical and mental health. It has other benefits as well.

An untold story inside me.

Drawing improves my mindfulness:

Mindfulness is nothing but your ability to stay in present, and in tune with your thoughts, emotions, and sensations in your body.

If you live with anxiety and tension, this might affect your health in a big way.  If you want to get rid of anxious thoughts, spend some time sitting with your art session. Hold a pencil in your hand and sketchbook before you and fully live up to that moment.

Yes, spending some time with your brush and colored pencil and your sketches help in keeping away anxious thoughts and unhappy moment.

It helps in learning to identify difficult emotions and importunately helps in improving emotional regulation.

Friends, I am trying to let my drawing take me anywhere to feel good without lots of expectations from me.

Someone to love

The process that matters, and not the technical skill behind our drawing.

I think if my art and drawing help me manage anxious thoughts; it is accomplishing my purpose.

Yes, my favorite pencil and my sketchbook are just ready to blast in this new year and I am hopeful of keeping my promise of sketching alive.

My drawings are for me only, so it doesn’t matter if they look pretty or perfect.

Thank you for reading my story and expecting your comment as well.

  4. Thanks for sharing your artwork from the new year. I’m glad to see that I was headed down the same path as you, and thinking mindfulness even before you talked about it. I cant draw to save myself, but I do have some colouring in books and nice pens and pencils I can escape to when the need arises.
