#An Evening at India Gate#

Dear friends,

Two days before,  I posted an article on Flag day. The purpose of this article was to convey the message about the sacrifice of Martyr Jawan for the country.

Yes, we can sleep peacefully only because of our Jawans, who are alert at the Border.

I was in Delhi, and an  Idea came to my mind, why not, I should visit India Gate and pay real homage to the martyr Amar Jawan? Thinking so, I reached there at India gate.

At that time, Divya Kala Mela was going on at   India Gate, New Delhi.  We came to know that the Products and craftsmanship of around 200 Divyang artisans and entrepreneurs are being showcased.

There were 22 states/union territories participating in the fair.  We were lucky to get an opportunity to visit that fair.

It was 5.00 o’clock in the evening and we enjoyed a lot that beautiful evening . We have taken some images on that occasion and shared them here.

Knowing about India Gate:

I came to know that this India Gate is 42 meters high. It is an “Arc-de-Triomphe” like an archway in the middle of a crossroad almost similar to its French counterpart. It commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during World War I.

India Gate, which is located at the eastern end of the Rajpath, is one of many British monuments built by order of the Imperial War Graves Commission. India Gate is also regarded as the All India War Memorial. As the name implies, this monument represents triumph during a battle.

Sir Edwin Lutyens designs it in the triumphal Arch style. This is historic structure is one of the major tourist attractions of India and encounters a huge number of visitors every day.

Yes, India Gate is an ever-happening place and fascinates everyone.

This is an iconic tourist destination in Delhi and  It has several picture-perfect attractions in and around that, which are worth exploring.

Main Attraction:

 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue:

We saw the masterpiece statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, built from an excellent monolithic block of Black granite. This Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose statue was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi and is installed on a canopy facing the India Gate.

Kartavya Path :

The Rajpath, stretching from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, is now named the Kartavya Path to scrape off the colonial domination and the testimonies to the emergence of India as a resurgent nation.

Picnic Spot:

There were so many tourists seen relaxing and enjoying their time within the complex of India Gate.

At the end of Rajpath, we also enjoyed a  beautiful recreational spot and perfect sightseeing.  We found that place, as the perfect one for relaxing and enjoying that evening.

Yes, we made our visit a memorable evening at the India Gate lawns which was the perfect picnic spot for us.
