Dear friends,
I love sketching and painting. During my professional career, this hobby was in hibernation. After my retirement, I took the pencil in my hand again because I still love drawing & painting.
Some of my friends raise questions before me about this hobby.
They say that there are so many hobbies with which we can improve our physical and mental health. They think drawing is simply a waste of time. You cannot start this type of hobby at this stage of life. There is no scope for career growth, etc etc.

I Love Drawing
There were two options before me: either I start doing this to go for a professional career or just do it for the sake of my hobby. But the fact is that I have an interest in doing art and drawing.
Now the question is how to continue this passion in a better way. I still remember the words of my friends .. don’t waste your time on these pitiful things. You don’t have a scope, rather you may suffer from health problems due to long sitting during your drawing & painting.

Even, though it pays nothing, rather it is a bit of an expensive hobby and may not suit retired people like us.
Whenever I heard these types of remarks, I felt disheartened as I didn’t have a proper reply for that.

Think about Making Art
I do not know confidently whether I can do this in the way I wish to.
I was always thinking in my mind about how to proceed in a better way. I was always confused about what are the important steps to be taken.
That was the period two years ago when I found a very humble and talented drawing teacher, Rahul Sir, who used to visit to teach drawing to my granddaughter.

I make Mistakes
One day, I discussed my problems with Rahul sir and told him everything about the comments I received on the matter.
With a sharp laugh, he told me, why do you go for advice from a person who knows nothing about Art & painting? Perhaps their words irritate you,
But don’t worry, you can learn about these Arts in this stage as you wish. I will teach you the steps to be followed. One day, you will find your passion as art.

Friends,
I frequently visit the portfolios of prolific artists for seeking artistic inspiration. I usually study their powerful bodies of work and try to understand Art and imagination. I also listen to the words spoken and the quotes by these influential Artists.

I am Inspired
There are some beautiful quotes from Great Artists which I like most.
- Every artist was first an amateur.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
- “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” – Vincent van Gogh

- “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” – Andy Warhol
- “Painting is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do.” – Edgar Degas

- “There are no rules. That is how art is born, how breakthroughs happen. Go against the rules or ignore the rules. That is what invention is about.” – Helen Frankenthaler
I hope you have enjoyed my Art works. Please share your feelings. That will be a source of inspiration for me.

I think I see a progression ~ your most recent works appear toward the head of the post, right? My goodness, they show wonderful sweetness, energy, motion (or stillness) and emotion.
By the way, I’ve been in arts education all my life, and your friends are dead wrong. Art therapy is used successfully for everything from physical handicap to emotional trauma, and studies show that, with the simple addition of a little music group to a school’s curriculum, math and science scores go up as much as thirty percent.
Beyond all that ~ if a gallery doesn’t want that woman’s profile, those dancers or some of that black and red work, they’re nuts.
Don’t listen. Keep on. You’re really good.
