#Spread Your Wings#

Dear friends,

I am Vijay Kumar Verma, a retired Banker, but a genuine lover of reading and passionate about my Blogging.

I have kept so many hobbies from my childhood. I love to play the mouth–organ, listen to classical music, and write poems whenever I get time.

During my professional life as Banker, all of my hobbies were fading because of the paucity of time. After retirement, I had enough time to enjoy my old hobbies.

One day I decided to explore other qualities in me and generated so many new hobbies such as gardening, painting, traveling, and swimming. I am spending so much time on my hobbies and enjoying my retired life.

I was also reading blogs of my online friends and was curious about writing my blog as well.

At the advice of my friends, finally I pursued my passion for Blog writing. Although I was not prolific in writing, but social media made me crazy for trying in this field.

With some hesitation and a bit of nervousness in mind, I started writing blogs at the beginning of the new year 2020. The month was January, and the date was obviously the 1st.

Before that, I had created my first website in the name of http://www.retiredkalam.com. I was gaining confidence as time passed.

Out of enthusiasm, we set a difficult target for me to post one blog post per day for 500 days in a row. That day was 1st April but didn’t intend to make myself an April Fool…Ha ha ha .

It is a matter of great pleasure that after my 2-year sincere efforts in Blogging;  I achieved something that I would like to share with you all.

Yes, last Sunday I reached the target, and it was 500 on a streak.  Not only that, I have posted 1885  Blogs with 286 k views and 1173 followers to date.

That may be considered as my achievement being a beginner in this field. My next target is to continue for 1000 blogs in a row.  How does it feel to hear this? Yes, I will try my best to achieve that goal too.

Now-a-days,  I am engaged in Abstract painting as well. Now I am really passionate about this new hobby.  Although, I have been drawing and making art ever since I was 7 years old. I sometimes think there is nothing so delightful as drawing.

There is a category in my Blog with the title “Me & my art”. I feel happy to see that my blog has hundreds of drawings and illustrations that receive much appreciation from my online friends..

Living in such a world where it is difficult to find true love and genuine friends, My drawing stay as my trusted friends, selfless friends that I love very much..

How do you feel about my blog ? I don’t know .

I am eagerly waiting for your comments and suggestions

  2. Retirement is a wonderful time in a person’s life and one can see that you are certainly using it wisely, creatively and as an example for others to follow. But as you have said, one must and should develop good habits and hobbies during their time in the work/professional fields, that way one can expand upon them in retirement. A very good and interesting post. Top of the morning to you!
