my passion for drawing

Art is a form of Love

Dear friends,

We are celebrating those endeavors of making my 1,000th sketch today. I am doing hard work to pursue my passion for drawing.  Yes, this hobby gives me so much inspiration and joy and helps me further my artistic pursuits.

I feel happy to post my sketches here from time to time and find your words of appreciation as well.  Your words motivate me always.

for this kindness, I shall ever remain grateful to all my lovely readers, and who are currently reading this blog.

Do more of what makes you happy

I am not good at drawing but I know that good things come with time, so today I have made the 1,000th sketch in my sketch-book. It is not possible to let you show all of my drawings but I am sharing some of my sketches here.

Can you suggest to me how I can improve my skill, I am eagerly waiting for your words on the matter.

My drawing teacher told me that sketching is like a muscle. I have to do sketching daily to keep improving.

I sometimes think there is nothing so delightful as drawing

I remember that incident when I was not exercising my drawing skill for three months because of some unavoidable circumstances. So, I found that my skill level has dropped considerably, and I had to spend a month time to get back my rhythm.

One more point is that, If I will not be doing sketching every day, how can I find my potential skill level.

In fact, I do sketch practice in the morning every day after returning from a morning walk.

  • There is nothing better than sketching in the morning time which is helpful in distracting me from other problems that are going on. That keeps me cool and my day starts with a smile on my face.
  • I am learning how to draw and paint for the last 2 years. It is an art that is a passion for me.
  • This Art expresses our inner thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It’s also an expression of creativity that can be used for self-reflection.
  • It improves our optimism, our character, and our happiness. Whenever I go into depression, I find my drawing is helpful in reducing the feelings of depression and anxiety and reducing stress. Yes, I got instant relief.
  • Whenever I get up in the morning, I visit my work-place, and seeing my favorite drawing gives me in a cheerful mood.
  • I am trying to have a piece of artwork that is special to me, that keeps me happy feelings.  I am still at work.
My first artistic love was drawing

But for the last 7 days, I did not make any drawings because of my illness, but I am desperate to continue my drawing and Art.

I am not an artist but I love this hobby and finding the meaning of life through my pencil and paper.

What I feel is that drawing & painting is important to me for many reasons. It is highly subjective and also very personal. It is a medium where I try to express my feelings and emotions through sketches.

Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

There is a beautiful quote that I feel with my emotions.

“He who works with his hands is a laborer.
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.

It is true that Art has the ability to help me get through some of the hardest times in my life, especially in times of crisis.

It helps me to deal with adverse situations and create something beautiful out of them. It helps to keep us cool.

My drawing also helps me to connect with like-minded people and usually reciprocate our feelings through drawings.

A lot of sketches

I want to develop my own style of drawing. My drawing teacher suggested that I have to make a lot of sketches with sincere dedication and effort. It will help me develop my skills and that makes me tick.

Purpose of drawing

There is always some purpose in any work. The key to making a drawing is to find ways to stay motivated. I have decided to set a specific time aside each day for this hobby.. I think promising yourself is a reward when you’ve filled up your sketchbook.

Keep Experimenting

I have an interest in experimenting with different types of drawings. It gives me immense pleasure to draw a different type of drawing that helps me develop my skill as well.

For this, I have signed up for a course on Udemy to further extend my skill. My drawing teacher said that sometimes a nugget of an idea you learn from a course can kick-start new ways of working you would never have imagined.

Improving my work regularly

I do so many sketches daily and find that the improvement is there. I also get it analyses on weekly basis through our drawing teacher..

They always comment and give suggestions on my drawings and I write down what they suggested.  Some little clues from my mentor help me in my further drawing and paintings.

 Challenging to myself

I always used to set myself a creative challenge with the objective to complete a particular drawing within the given time frame. That keeps me motivated and excited.

 Enjoying the process

Drawing is the passion that gives me immense pleasure and happiness. I think it will be helpful in moving forward toward my desired goal. I keep working and hope to develop my own style one day.

  1. You have a personal style and I can clearly see it. The style only develops after you have spent certain time and have taken your art seriously. Well, having said that what helped me to improve my portraits especially were two things. One is traditional. The grid method. Yes the grid method helped me with portrait painting. The other thing is not traditional. It was my need. I had interest in how did the mind of a painter worked , while painting. I discover that when magnified all those paintings that attracted me. And that helped me to see artists strokes, shading and many other things. I hope I have told you something helpful. Yes the third thing is, you should sometimes try other artists work as well. It is also helpful to understand art. Life is so busy we really don’t have enough time for all we do. God bless you
