Tributes have poured in from around the world for India’s top military commander, who died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday.
The helicopter crash that tragically cut short the lives of the Chief of Defense Staff, General Bipin Rawat, and 12 others was a professional and personal blow.

It was such an untimely death and a tragic incident. I remember that day it was my friend’s birthday but she didn’t celebrate because of this heart rending tragedy that happened to one of the most able Chief of Defense staff. Thank you for this reminder sir that there are many people who have laid down their lives in the service of the nation and we citizens should not be hesitant to do so if required.
