Hello, dear friends!
I hope this blog finds you in a cheerful mood, with a smile on your face and a little curiosity dancing in your mind.
Today’s writing prompt made me smile as I read: “What’s a completely useless fact you love sharing?”
Now, that is a question worth exploring! We spend so much of our lives collecting useful information—how to earn money, manage time, cook delicious food, or solve complicated problems.
But what about those strange little facts that serve no practical purpose and yet make us smile whenever we remember them?
Let me share a few of my favourites, including one amusing fact about myself!

1. The World Is Full of Wonderful Nonsense
Did you know that a group of flamingos is called a flamboyance?
Imagine a group of flamingos standing together in their beautiful pink feathers. They could have been called a crowd or a gathering, but nature gave them a name that sounds like a grand celebration!
Another fascinating fact is that bananas are botanically classified as berries, while strawberries are not true botanical berries.
Yes, dear friends, the humble banana has a botanical identity crisis waiting to happen!
Imagine sharing this information at breakfast. Someone might never look at their banana in quite the same way again.
As the saying goes, “The more you learn, the more you discover how wonderfully strange the world can be.”

2. My Personal Useless Fact
Now comes my favourite part—the completely useless fact about myself!
I can remember a funny line from an old movie, a beautiful sentence from a book, or a song that touched my heart years ago. Yet sometimes, I walk into another room to fetch something and suddenly forget why I went there!
I stand in the middle of the room, looking around, wondering, “Now, what was I looking for?”
And just like that, my mind seems to have gone on a little holiday!
Perhaps my brain has two cupboards: one for interesting memories and another for everyday tasks. Occasionally, the two refuse to communicate!
The funniest part is that I might remember a tiny detail from a conversation years ago, but the purpose of a journey lasting just a few seconds disappears completely.
Of course, I eventually remember what I wanted—or sometimes return to the previous room and hope the answer will magically reveal itself!
I suppose this is one of life’s little mysteries. And if you experience the same thing, please know that you are not alone!
As I like to say, “The mind may forget the purpose of a journey, but it rarely forgets a good story!”

3. Three Hearts, One Curious Octopus!
Here is another fascinating fact I enjoy sharing: an octopus has three hearts.
Two hearts pump blood to the gills, while the third pumps blood to the rest of the body. Interestingly, the heart responsible for circulating blood around the body temporarily stops beating when the octopus swims.
Imagine managing life’s responsibilities with three hearts!
We humans sometimes feel that one heart is already carrying too many emotions, expectations, and worries. An octopus seems to have taken a different approach!
Of course, this fact has scientific value. But in an ordinary conversation, it is wonderfully unexpected and almost guaranteed to make people curious.
That is the charm of such discoveries: they make the ordinary world feel extraordinary.

4. Why Do We Love Useless Facts?
Life is full of responsibilities, deadlines, and serious conversations. We are constantly trying to accomplish something meaningful.
But must everything we learn have a practical purpose?
I don’t think so.
A funny fact can brighten someone’s afternoon. An unexpected discovery can start a conversation between strangers. A silly observation can become a family joke that survives for years.
Even forgetting why we entered a room can give us a reason to laugh at ourselves!
For me, writing, painting, playing table tennis, and exploring new ideas are ways to keep my mind active. But I also believe there should always be room for harmless nonsense and spontaneous laughter.
After all, living well is not just about being productive; it is also about enjoying the little absurdities of everyday life.
As I often like to think, “Not everything we learn must change our lives; sometimes, it only needs to change our mood.”

5. Your Turn, Dear Friends
Now, my dear friends, I have confessed my little memory mystery and shared a few fascinating facts from the world around us.
What about you?
Do you remember every song lyric but forget where you put your glasses? Can you recall an old conversation word for word but forget what you came into the kitchen to collect?
Or perhaps you know a wonderfully bizarre fact about animals, history, food, or everyday life.
Please share your favourite useless fact in the comments. Let us surprise one another, exchange a few laughs, and discover that even the most pointless piece of knowledge can create a meaningful moment.
Remember, life doesn’t always need another serious discussion. Sometimes, it simply needs curiosity, a generous smile, and a fact nobody really needs to know!
Keep learning, keep laughing, keep your mind curious, and above all, keep enjoying the beautiful journey of life. 😂❤️
Because sometimes, the most useless facts create the most useful smiles!

BE HAPPY… BE ACTIVE… BE FOCUSED… BE ALIVE
