# A Tribute of Love and Longing #

Maa ke punya tithi par dil se shradhanjali 🙏🙏

O, Dear Mother

Another year passes, but the pain in my heart doesn’t lessen. Time moves on, yet this day always feels the same — filled with memories, longing, and the silence of your absence.

Today, the anniversary of your passing brings with it a deeper silence, a storm cloud that gathers over the heart.

But amidst this sorrow, there’s a soft flicker of light — the warmth of your memory, the echo of your laughter, and the strength you left behind in me.

Though life denied me the chance to hold your hand or see your smile, your presence has never left me. It lives in my dreams — those quiet, sacred places where time collapses and love endures.

In those moments, I feel your embrace like a gentle wave washing over me, soothing the wounds that time could never truly heal.

You gave me more than life; you gave me strength. You taught me — without even being there in body — to weather storms, to search for beauty in the smallest corners, and to hold on to hope, even when the world seems steeped in darkness.

You were my unseen guide, my guardian angel. And though I never got to serve you, to care for you the way a child dreams of doing, I carry your essence in every heartbeat, in every tear I shed, and in every word I write.

Today, I take up my pen to whisper my love into the wind — hoping it finds you in heaven.

Here is my humble tribute in the form of a poem, from a child who never stopped longing:

# O, Dear Mother #

O, dear mother, where do I begin?
Your face, a mystery I hold within.
Never once did I feel your touch,
Yet I long for you, I miss you much.

The world spoke of your endless grace,
But I never saw your loving face.
Fate was cruel, kept us apart,
Still you reside within my heart.

You stayed near, yet so far above,
Denied the warmth of your purest love.
I couldn’t serve, nor ease your pain,
God knows I tried, but all in vain.

A silent prayer I send each night,
To meet you in heaven’s light.
Till then, I cry with a soul so bare —
O, dear mother, none can compare.

(Vijay Verma)

As I write these words, a tear falls — not out of despair, but love.
Thank you, Mom, for being the silent pillar of strength in my life.
You are not forgotten. You are not gone.
You live in me — eternally...

  2. Dear Verma ji,

Your words pierced straight through the heart. To love someone so deeply without ever having held their hand, to carry their memory without ever hearing their voice — that is not sorrow alone, that is sacred devotion.

You’ve turned your pain into poetry, your silence into strength. Your mother may not have been with you in body, but she is surely watching from the softest corner of the sky, her heart swelling with pride for the child who loved her across the veil of life itself.

May that flicker of light you spoke of never dim. May your tears continue to water a love that time cannot touch. And may you meet her one day — in that place where dreams and heaven become one.

Thank you for reminding us that love needs no embrace to be eternal. 🙏

    • Your words truly touched my heart, Srikanth. Thank you for reading with such compassion and depth. The way you understood the silence, the longing, and the unseen bond means more than I can express.

Yes, some loves exist beyond touch, beyond time, beyond even this life — and perhaps that is what makes them eternal. Your message felt like a gentle prayer wrapped in kindness.

    • Absolutely true. A mother’s love is one of the purest and most enduring gifts in life — gentle, selfless, and unforgettable. No matter how much time passes, her care, sacrifices, and prayers continue to guide and protect us. Thank you for such heartfelt words. 🙏💖

  5. A deeply emotional and poignant reflection—expressing enduring grief, remembrance, and the way certain dates carry unchanged emotional weight despite the passage of time. 💔✨

    • Thank you for such a thoughtful and heartfelt reflection. You captured the emotional essence so beautifully — how grief does not always fade with time, but instead learns to live quietly within us, especially around certain dates and memories that continue to hold deep emotional meaning.
