Today is Mother’s Day — a day filled with mixed emotions for many. For some, it is a joyful occasion to celebrate the incredible women who gave us life and nurtured us with unconditional love.

For me, however, it is a bittersweet reminder of the mother I lost a few years ago.

No matter how much time passes, the absence of a mother leaves a silence that words can never fully describe. Yet Mother’s Day is also a time to reflect on the profound impact of a mother’s love and the unbreakable bond she creates with her child.

From the moment we take our first breath, our mothers become our first home — offering warmth, comfort, protection, and endless care.

They are our first teachers, guiding us patiently through life’s earliest steps. They celebrate our victories, wipe away our tears, encourage us when we fail, and stand beside us when the world feels heavy.

A mother’s love becomes the foundation upon which we build our lives.

This Mother’s Day, I want to thank my mother for everything she did for me. I want to tell her how deeply I love her and how grateful I am for every sacrifice she made throughout her life.

I want her to know that she was not only my mother, but also my hero, my role model, and my best friend.

A Letter to My Mom in Heaven

Dear Mom,

I know you are no longer in this world, but my heart still refuses to believe you are truly gone. I feel your presence in the quiet moments of my life. I hear your voice in my dreams, and I see your smile in the memories I carry every day.

You were the most loving mother anyone could ever ask for.

You taught me how to love, how to stay humble, and how to remain strong even during difficult times. You supported me through every step of my journey, even when I made mistakes.

Whenever I was sad, you comforted me. Whenever I was afraid, you gave me courage. Whenever I succeeded, your happiness became greater than my own.

You were my first friend, my first teacher, and my first inspiration.

You were my safe place.

I miss you more than words can express.

I know you are watching over me from heaven. I believe you still guide me in ways I cannot explain. I know you want me to live with strength, kindness, and hope — just as you taught me to.

But there are moments when my heart still breaks.

Sometimes I wish I could hug you one more time. Sometimes I wish I could sit beside you and tell you how much I love you and how thankful I am for everything you sacrificed for me.

I miss hearing your voice. I miss your laughter. I miss the comfort of simply knowing you were there.

Still, I find peace in believing that you are free from pain now, surrounded by eternal light and love.

And though you may no longer walk beside me, you continue to live within me — in my thoughts, my prayers, my values, and my memories.

Until we meet again, I will carry your love in my heart forever.

You are my mother.
I am your child.
And nothing — not even death — can ever change that.
