# A Journey Begins with Excitement #

My First International Journey

Hello dear friends,

I hope this Blog finds you in a cheerful mood. Today, I want to share the story of my very first international journey—to the vibrant city of Bangkok.

My adventure began in Patna, from where I traveled to Delhi along with around 40 colleagues from my bank. This tour had been organized by our bank, making it even more special and memorable.

Our flight landed on time in Delhi, where we gathered with the rest of the group and our tour coordinator. However, there was unexpected news waiting for us—our flight to Bangkok, scheduled for that very night, had been canceled.

While most of my colleagues were disappointed, I secretly felt relieved.
The idea of a night flight had made me slightly anxious, so this delay felt like a blessing in disguise.

The airline arranged an overnight stay for us at a five-star hotel—Radisson Hotel.

For me, this was an exciting experience. Staying in such a luxurious hotel for the first time felt like a dream. After freshening up, I realized it was already 9 PM, and it was time for dinner.

Just then, I noticed my room partner sitting comfortably on the sofa, sipping red wine.

Surprised, I asked, “Where did you get alcohol at this hour?”

He casually replied, “Everything in the fridge is included, right? Since the room is free, these must be free too!”

I couldn’t help but laugh and said, “You’ll have to pay for those items. Nothing in that minibar is free—and especially not imported alcohol!”

The realization hit him instantly, and his excitement faded just as quickly as it had appeared. Lesson learned!

When we reached the dining hall, I was amazed. The buffet spread was grand—countless dishes, flavors, and aromas filled the space.

Being extremely hungry, we all indulged wholeheartedly. The food was delicious, and I ended up eating more than usual. Then came the desserts—rows and rows of them. I couldn’t resist my favorite gulab jamun and happily gave in to temptation.

There’s something about “free” food that makes us forget our limits!

After a satisfying meal, I returned to my room and instantly fell asleep, dreaming of my upcoming adventure.

When I woke up, sunlight was already peeking through the window. I checked the time—8 AM.

My heart skipped a beat.

Our flight was scheduled for 6 AM!

In panic, I woke my room partner. “We’ve missed the flight!” I exclaimed.

Just then, I noticed an envelope slipped under the door. Inside was a message:
“Your flight is delayed by five hours. It will now depart at 11 AM.”

Relief washed over me. It felt like the universe had given me a second chance.

At the airport, after completing security checks, my nervousness began to rise again. Through the window, I could see the aircraft that would take us to Bangkok.

I had been assigned a window seat—something that both excited and frightened me.

As the plane took off, I felt a wave of anxiety. But then, I gathered courage and looked outside.

What I saw changed everything.

The clouds looked like soft cotton blankets stretching endlessly across the sky. The view was breathtaking. My fear slowly melted into awe, and I began capturing the beauty on my phone.

That moment taught me something powerful—sometimes, facing your fears reveals the most beautiful experiences.

After a four-hour flight, we finally landed in Bangkok. Once we completed visa formalities, we exited through Gate No. 8, where a pre-booked tourist bus and guide were waiting.

From there, we traveled to Pattaya, a journey of about three hours.

By the time we reached our hotel, it was already late in the evening. After check-in, I discovered that I had a new room partner this time, as rooms had been pre-assigned.

The hotel was beautiful, and after placing my luggage in the room, I headed for dinner. I was extremely tired and sleepy.

After eating quickly, I went straight to bed.

But sleep had other plans.

My new room partner had a habit of snoring—loudly.

No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t fall asleep. I nudged him, shook him, even tried to wake him—but nothing worked. The snoring would stop briefly and then return even louder.

At one point, in frustration, I even gave him a gentle kick—but he remained in deep sleep!

Despite being in such a luxurious setting, I spent the entire night tossing and turning. It was my first “bitter” travel experience—one that I will never forget.

(To be continued…)
