This poem gently reflects on the shift from a carefree, light-hearted life to one shaped by responsibilities and quiet burdens.
It captures the subtle realization that while life may feel heavier now, the simplicity and joy we once knew still exist within us—waiting to be felt again in fleeting moments.
# Somewhere Within #
There was a time
when life felt light—
when laughter came easy
and stayed a while.
We didn’t carry much then,
no heavy thoughts,
no quiet fears—
just moments as they were.
Somewhere along the way,
we learned to hold more
than we needed to.
But sometimes,
in a sudden smile
or a passing memory,
it returns—
that lighter life,
still living quietly
somewhere within.

The change from care free to responsibility is well told in your poem. If we knew what was coming in our youth, we would lose the chance to be carefree. Carefree moments are fewer in maturity and we usually have work to make them happen. Happy Sunday. Allan

Thank you, Allan—this is so thoughtfully put 😊
You’re absolutely right… if we carried the awareness of what’s ahead in our youth, we might miss the very gift of being carefree. Perhaps that innocence has its own purpose—to let us live lightly, without the weight of knowing.
And yes, as we grow, those carefree moments don’t disappear… they just need a little more intention to be found or created. Maybe that makes them even more meaningful when they do arrive.
Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Sunday as well 🌿

Beautifully said… truly 🌿
You’ve captured the essence in just a line—how nothing is really lost, only softened and hidden beneath the weight of time. And yes… therein lies the poem.
Sometimes poetry isn’t in the writing, but in the realization itself—the quiet moment when something inside us gently stirs and says, “I’m still here.”
Thank you for putting it so simply, and so powerfully ✨

This feels like a quiet conversation with the self…
So gently written, yet it carries the weight of something deeply familiar.🤍✨
The way you’ve captured that shift from lightness to layered living is so real. And that last thought… “still living quietly somewhere within” it lingers. It reassures, almost like a soft reminder that we haven’t really lost anything, just tucked it away for a while.✨
Beautiful, tender, and deeply comforting Verma ji🤍✨

Thank you so much for such a tender and thoughtful reflection 🤍✨
You’ve understood it so beautifully… that quiet shift, where nothing is truly lost, just gently set aside within us. And yes, that “lighter life” doesn’t disappear—it simply waits, patiently, for us to return to it.
Your words feel like an extension of that same softness and awareness. It’s comforting to know it resonated with you in such a meaningful way.

I’m really glad that “lighter life” feeling resonated with you. It’s true… it doesn’t shout, it just quietly waits for us to notice it amidst everything else.
Your understanding of it adds even more meaning to what I tried to express. Grateful for your warmth and connection 😊✨

Beautiful poem Verma! Your words carry a quiet nostalgia that tugs on my heart. What you said is very true—as we get older those simple times fade away and transform into beautiful memories. A bitter sweet paradox as we grow old;the hardships we face now might look like bliss in five years. Odd how that works. Life is mysterious yet beautiful and you captured that little paradox so perfectly in your poem!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt words 😊
You’ve expressed that paradox so beautifully—how today’s struggles can quietly become tomorrow’s cherished memories. It really is strange and wonderful how life reshapes our perspective with time.
I’m glad the poem resonated with you in that way. That gentle mix of nostalgia and acceptance is something I was hoping to capture—and your reflection adds even more depth to it.
