# Somewhere Within #

This poem gently reflects on the shift from a carefree, light-hearted life to one shaped by responsibilities and quiet burdens.

It captures the subtle realization that while life may feel heavier now, the simplicity and joy we once knew still exist within us—waiting to be felt again in fleeting moments.

# Somewhere Within #

There was a time
when life felt light—
when laughter came easy
and stayed a while.

We didn’t carry much then,
no heavy thoughts,
no quiet fears—
just moments as they were.

Somewhere along the way,
we learned to hold more
than we needed to.

But sometimes,
in a sudden smile
or a passing memory,
it returns—

that lighter life,
still living quietly
somewhere within.

  1. The change from care free to responsibility is well told in your poem. If we knew what was coming in our youth, we would lose the chance to be carefree. Carefree moments are fewer in maturity and we usually have work to make them happen. Happy Sunday. Allan
