This poem speaks softly to the morning, which represents strength, renewal, and hope. It celebrates the miracle of waking up after dark, showing morning as steadiness, coming back, and new opportunities.
The heart of the poem is gratitude: appreciating life not for its ease, but for its continuation.
# O, Dear Morning #
O, dear Morning,
you are not merely a word
whispered by tick-tick clocks.
You are a promise
wrapped in pale gold light.
You arrive with the glowing Sun,
soft-footed yet certain,
brushing away the shadows
that dared to linger too long.
You whisper,
The dark did not win.
Even the longest night
must loosen its grip.
You wake me from sleep
not as an interruption,
but as an invitation—
to breathe again,
to hope again.
You send the birds ahead of you,
tiny messengers of joy,
singing because
they believe in today.
In their chirping,
I hear courage.
Every night,
when silence feels heavy
and worries grow loud,
I wait for you.
I trust you will come,
as you always do.
O, dear Morning,
I love you—
not because you are perfect,
but because you return.
Again.
And again.
And again—
giving me one more day
to live,
to feel,
to hope,
to try.
O, dear Morning,
I love you.

A beautiful and deeply moving reflection, Verma ji. You have captured the very essence of morning not as a time, but as a faithful character—a quiet, persistent hero in our daily lives. The line, “I love you—not because you are perfect, but because you return,” is a masterpiece of philosophy. It shifts gratitude from conditional joy to unconditional reverence for life’s steadfast rhythm. This poem is a gentle, powerful reminder to find our courage in the birdsong and our hope in the inevitable light. Thank you for this gift. It resonates long after the reading.🌷🤝

Thank you so much for this deeply thoughtful and generous reading.
Your words meet the poem with the same quiet care it was written in. I’m especially moved that the idea of return spoke to you—there’s something profoundly comforting in life’s faithfulness, even in its simplicity.
Knowing the poem stayed with you beyond the moment of reading is the greatest gift a writer can receive. Truly grateful. 🌷🤝

I’ll take that as a gentle compliment 🙂
Sometimes writing like a child means writing honestly—without filters, without fear.
Thank you for reading it with that spirit.
